Our take
For years, traditional brokers ruled the share trading realm, charging hefty fees that locked out everyday investors. Robinhood emerged as a disruptor, offering commission-free trading and opening the door to a new generation. Since then, expectations have continued to evolve, with investors looking not just to lower costs, but for simpler tools, clearer information, and guidance that makes the market easier to understand. Robinhood was built to meet those changing expectations, designed from the start as a mobile-first platform that makes investor more accessible and less intimidating for people at every stage of their financial journey. Through its app, users can trade stocks and other financial instruments while benefiting from a clean interface and built-in educational support, helping them move from curiosity to confidence without unnecessary complexity. Recently, Robinhood has strenghtned its impact too, particularly in the UK. With the launch of AI-powered Digests within its Robinhood Cortex assistant that helps users understand what's driving stock movements in plain English, while upcoming options trading and expanded educational resources add flexibility and depth. Together, these steps position Robinhood as a platform evolving alongside its users, blending technology and education to stay ahead in an ever-changing investment landscape.
You'll be working on
- Most designers ship features. On the Core Experience team, you shape the foundation that millions of people already use every day — rethinking how the app’s most important surfaces are structured, not just how they look
- . Robinhood keeps growing into new products and markets, and this role makes sure the core experience scales right alongside it — a big, visible opportunity that lives or dies on the details. We ship constantly — this team moves in weeks, not quarters
- The Core Experience team rebuilds the foundation of core Robinhood products, taking an experimentation-first approach on some of our highest-visibility, most-used surfaces
- We move quickly, test broadly, and iterate with purpose. Our culture values confidence, flexibility, and the ability to turn ambiguity into momentum — and we partner closely with Product to balance great user experience with real business impact
- As a Product Designer on this team, you combine big-picture systems architecture with pixel-perfect craft. You’ll own the core app shell — Home, Watchlists, Search, and beyond — rapidly generating and testing ideas across multiple product domains on surfaces that millions of users interact with every single day
- You’ll bring a strong point of view to your work and make the case for design decisions that involve real business trade-offs, including in conversations with executive leadership. The work is fast, visible, and consequential
- Set and hold the visual quality bar across the core app shell — including work you don’t own directly — for surfaces millions of users see every day
- Rapidly generate and test a broad range of incremental changes across the mobile app using an experimentation-first approach (A/B testing, concept sprints, iteration at speed)
- Design for the core app shell — Home, Watchlists, Search, and the surfaces that connect them — across multiple product domains
- Present design concepts directly to executive leadership with clarity and confidence, making the case for decisions that involve real business trade-offs
- Partner tightly with Product Managers and engineers to deliver great experiences in fast-moving environments — with the autonomy to define the problem, not just solve it
We're looking for
- Proven experience designing for consumer mobile applications on high-visibility surfaces, with a strong sense of how product structure and navigation hold up at scale
- Confidence in your design decisions and the ability to navigate shifting requirements, advocate for your choices, and adapt without losing quality
- Real experience with experimentation methodologies — A/B testing, rapid concept generation, iterating based on data
- A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual craft and execution, from an in-house or agency background
- A collaborative approach to cross-functional relationships and genuine curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI tools in the design process
