Our take
In the US, invoice fraud is on the rise with companies losing an average of $300,000 annually to fraudulent invoices. There is a lack of visibility with one in four finance professionals unaware or unable to estimate the cost of invoice fraud to their business, most likely due to messy paper trails that plague the invoice process. Medius is an AP automation, payments, sourcing and procurement company. A leading provider in its industry, Medius is going beyond the basics of automation, using artificial intelligence to do the majority of its work, meaning invoices get confirmed, coded and paid automatically, and businesses can trust their budgets and forecasts. With financial professionals beginning to recognise the importance of AP automation, Medius is focused on strengthening its applications as it expects to see exponential growth in the near future. With several rounds of equity funding behind it, Medius is in a prime position to become the category-defining global business for the mid-market.
You'll be working on
- Great Team, Opportunity for Career & Professional Development, Collaborative and Meritocratic work culture and Supportive Leadership
- We automate accounts payable, invoicing, and payments for organisations that need precision and control over how money moves. We’re in a significant period of product investment, with AI reshaping how we build, what we ship, and how our customers work. The design team is central to that, and this is a good moment to be part of it
- You’ll work as a product designer embedded in a cross-functional team, taking real ownership of feature design from problem framing through to shipping. This is a role where you’ll move beyond execution and start developing your own design voice: forming views on what the right problem is, not just how to solve it
- You’ll have support and context from the wider design team, a design system to work from, and clear product direction to work within. The expectation is that you bring craft and curiosity; the scope to grow will follow
- Design features end-to-end: taking a problem brief, exploring solutions, building prototypes, and working with engineers through to delivery
- Contribute to user research and usability testing, building confidence in running sessions and translating findings into design decisions. –
- Use AI tools as part of your day-to-day practice, including Figma’s AI features and generative prototyping, as standard working method rather than occasional experiment
- Work closely with a product manager and engineers as a full member of a squad, contributing to decisions beyond the design brief
- Contribute to the Medius design system: following and improving patterns, flagging gaps, and helping maintain consistency across the product
- Give and receive design critique in formal crits and async reviews

- Car Allowance
- Private Medical, Health, Dental Care for Employee and Immediate Family
- Pension Scheme
- 26 days Annual Holidays (including birthday) plus Bank Holiday

We're looking for
- Solid UX and UI foundations: you understand the research-to-spec journey and have done it, even if not always independently
- A portfolio that shows reasoning, not just finished work
- Proficient in Figma, including components, variants, and auto-layout
- A genuine interest in AI, both as subject matter (designing AI-powered features) and as a craft tool (using AI to work faster and think more rigorously)
- Clear communicator: able to explain design decisions to engineers and product managers and take feedback constructively
- 2+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or fintech
- Experience designing for complex data workflows, approval flows, or financial products
- Some exposure to design system contribution or component library work
- Experience with AI-assisted design or prompt-to-prototype workflows
