4 years ago, we took a chance and chose vue.js to develop our internal backoffice. It was a success and we progressively adopted vue.js for the rest of Malt. The learning curve was short, the community is active and welcoming. For us, TypeScript + Vue = ❤️
Modern data platform
Our data stack is one of the drivers of our product and company. All our data is ingested in Big Query and processed to feed our data analysts and data scientists.
Organization and methodologies
The product team is organized in 3 tribes: client, freelancer and platform. This organization fits well with our marketplace: we work for our clients and freelancers and our technical platform is our foundation.
Both client and freelancer tribes are split into smaller squads, in charge of a specific part of the user journey. Each squad is composed of:
- A Product Manager
- A Product Designer
- A Product Data Analyst
- 4 to 5 Software Engineers (Front, Back, Fullstack, Mobile, Data Scientist)
Autonomy is key in our culture. At Malt, product teams are free to follow the methodology they prefer. Teams organize their work as they want (Scrum, Kanban or anything else, iterations duration, backlog management, estimates or not). We promote continuous improvement, transparency and simplicity.
Our recruitment process is the following:
- A 45-minute screening with a Tech Talent Acquisition Manager
- A 1 hour interview with an Engineering Manager
- A technical test to be done at home followed by a 1h30 debriefing with two developers
- A final interview with the VP Engineering
