The history of La Butte was exceptional right from the start.It all began in 1952 when Solène’s grandmother Jeanne-Yvonne decided to take her life in a new direction. She was a woman ahead of her time, leaving farm life to open a guesthouse despite society frowning on this sort of feminine initiative. Her taste for a challenge and her fighting spirit laid the cornerstones of La Butte. La Butte is a way of life that we shape on a daily basis through our experiences and collective learning.
Ours is a continuing family history. Nicolas works in the Michelin-starred restaurant, while his brother Erwan manages the bistrot. Our ecosystem thrives in the harmonious atmosphere created by Solène, who unites all the elements.
La Butte is also a place where our colleagues are free to express themselves. We believe that people have incredible potential when their imagination is given free rein. Our colleagues are free to be spontaneous, to exercise their curiosity and to experiment. This process is at its best when it comes to collaborating on new creations.
The operation of the establishment is guaranteed thanks to their skills in different trades. With a quality of work representative of the Butte, they are perfectly organised, reactive and have a sense of service! They and their team work in complete safety.
For the rooms, we decided to begin by transforming our ecosystem rather than launching any major construction. One of our first actions was to change our welcome products, a key feature of all hotel rooms.
Our work on sourcing led us to a local soapmaker who produces cosmetic products using local plants with wonderful qualities.
All of our products are now bulk-packaged in elegant reusable dispensers, or are in solid form, like all-natural vinegar shampoo.
