What’s the job? About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of data integrity and supporting the success of data-driven initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Designers, Data Quality Analysts and Product Owners to implement robust quality assurance processes and solutions.
- Design, create, and maintain automated and manual test scripts and validation routines to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
- Collaborate with data engineers, data designers, and product owners to identify and address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure quality is maintained throughout the development lifecycle
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including test plans, test cases, test execution and test closure reports
- Support data integration and ETL processes with a focus on data quality and reliability
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in quality engineering and big data
What you’ll bring - Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, QA Engineer, or similar role in a big data environment.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, practices, and tools.
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
- Experience with PySpark, Python and Databricks.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in agile teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
