The AGC Group, is a world-leading supplier of flat, automotive and display glass, chemicals and other high-tech materials and components. The Headquarters of AGC Glass Europe are located in Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium.

AGC produces glass for construction (external glazing and indoor decorative glass) and for the automotive industry. The Automotive Glass division develops, produces, and commercializes a broad range of products such as windshields, side windows, rear windscreens and panoramic roofs, with advanced features: heated windshields, infrared and UV protection, head-up displays…

AGC Automotive Europe specializes in providing customers with complete solutions in terms of car glazing and related technologies. It includes production and sales of products to vehicle manufacturers (Cars and Trains) in terms of Glazing, Added Value products and components systems; as well as a complete range of service in the aftermarket area from production to distribution and retail.

Within the context of the shift of the automotive commercial strategy “From volume growth to profit growth” the creation of new solutions (product or service) based on the value recognition by the customer (car maker, new mobility stakeholder or end-consumer) is a key pillar.

A dedicated structure called Incubation Factory has been created in order to take the lead on the development and the start-up of disruptive solutions and business models within AGC Automotive Europe. The Incubation Factory is starting up a new connected car service called Jack, relying on IoT technology and data analytics, and is looking for an experienced business development manager to bring that solution further on the market, in Europe (discover more about our solution on https://smart-jack.com/en).

Job description

Your mission

Develop, implement and monitor efficient commercial and business growth strategies for Jack, predominantly within the bus glazing and vehicle telematics sectors, in Europe. Be the face to the customer, engaging them to contribute to the successful introduction of an innovative connected car service. You build trustful and long-term relationships with international partners, from pre-sales contacts to post-sales follow-up. With the Marketing team, you set-up dynamic promotional plans (product, price, place and promotion).

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement various capture methods for business development to ensure the growth of the business.
  • Generate new leads, accompany them in the adoption and in the operation of the service: from pilot testing to large-scale deployment.
  • Manage commercial and pricing strategies according to customer needs.
  • Manage all customer communication and build trustful and long-term relationships with them.
  • Anticipate the future needs of target market segments, get customer insights, and communicate them to the team to drive the next product developments.
  • Demonstrate and monitor effective implementation of business development activities.
  • Examine business strategies and develop improvement plans for same to provide appropriate growth to business.
  • Co-develop marketing plans (product, price, place, promotion) based on defined strategies, implement and challenge them with existing prospects and customers.
  • Report hierarchically to Jack CEO, and functionally to Jack Commercial Manager.

Preferred experience

  • Master’s degree, preferably in commercial management or marketing.
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in an international function, as business developer or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying commercial opportunities and developing from pre-sales to post-sales strong commercial relations generating the delivery of tangible business results.
  • Relevant experience or strong affinity in automotive industry, bus & truck fleets or mobility services and technologies is required.
  • Responsible, proactive, entrepreneurial spirit, agile, willing to work within dynamic team, strong negotiation and influencing skills, with personal and organizational sensitivity, open to travel.
  • IT literature including good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Comfortable with digital communication tools and strategies.
  • Fluent English language mandatory. Knowledge of any other language is a plus.
