Our take
Fieldguide offers a cloud-native collaboration and automation platform for accounting and advisory practices. The idea is to make workflow and collaboration more streamlined, and automate parts of it altogether, for teams working on cybersecurity, risk, and ESG audits. Fieldguide has launched with a focus on three high-demand and high-growth areas of business. With cybersecurity and ESG in particular seeing increased corporate investment, thanks to the steep costs of error or regulatory non-compliance, demand for tech that can help manage this influx of auditing work is likely to grow fast. Indeed, Fieldguide received an impressive funding injection in 2024 that will help expand the kinds of audits its product applies to, as well as grow its team. Fieldguide has already netted some key audit and advisory firms as clients, suggesting that the young company is onto something good. Internal productivity tools are booming across multiple industries, with automation also seeing a significant uptake for enterprise businesses. If Fieldguide can successfully manage its scale-up, it could become an important software player.

- We move incredibly fast at Fieldguide, and we’re looking for designers who can operate at that cadence
- This team ships frequently, iterates in tight loops, and makes progress amid ambiguity

- Advocate for users while accounting for technical, regulatory, and business constraints
- Own a significant product area or customer journey, anticipating downstream impacts across workflows and personas
- Set a high bar for craft and influence by contributing to the design system, mentoring peers, and serving as a trusted design voice

We're looking for
- You’re comfortable influencing senior PM and Engineering leaders, not just your immediate collaborators
- You operate as a strategic IC — you don’t just solve problems, you decide which problems matter
- You think several steps ahead, anticipating how decisions in one area ripple across others
- 10+ year of experience in a Product Design role, ideally focused on complex, B2B SaaS products
- You’ve coached or mentored other designers and can articulate why, not just what
- Experience shaping how AI-assisted workflows get designed at a systemic level, not just within a single flow
- You can hold a long-term point of view while still shipping incrementally
- You set a bar for craft and consistency that others look to as the standard
- Experience designing for audit, accounting, compliance, or other regulated domains
- Track record of shaping design strategy across multiple teams, not just a single product area
- Background in workflow-heavy, document-centric, or B2B SaaS products
- Experience building or scaling design systems, standards, or team-wide processes
- Experience coaching or managing designers, formally or informally
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices at scale
