About Enky
Enky is a fully remote European scale-up of around 40 people, changing how companies and individuals furnish their spaces. We run three verticals: B2B furniture rental for workplaces and hospitality, Galerie Paradis, our vintage and design showroom in Paris, and Enky Invest, our investment arm. Our clients sit across France, Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands.
The Role
Every product Enky rents, sells or showcases starts life as a supplier catalogue and a price list. Around 50 brands are live, 20+ are in the pipeline and thousands of SKUs are waiting in the backlog. We’re building toward 95% automated encoding, so thousands of products can go live in days rather than months.
Automation only scales if the pipeline around it runs cleanly, and that’s the job.
Today our Catalogue Owner, Andy, runs both the day-to-day catalogue operations and the rules behind our encoding. You take over the operations so he can focus on structure: the common encoding standard, the product data model, and our AI-assisted encoding project with the tech team. Encoding itself stays with our outsourced partner and our automation. You run everything around it: what goes in, what comes out, and what gets done first.
How you’ll work with Andy. He sets the common rules and priorities; you apply them every day and adapt them brand by brand. Whenever the standard covers the case, you decide on your own, on batches and on requests. Anything it doesn’t cover goes to him.
You join the Product team, reporting to Markus (Head of Product) and working day to day with Andy. Two ways in: a permanent role, or a 6-month contract (freelance or fixed-term) that can convert to permanent.
What You’ll Do
Run our encoding partner. Own the day-to-day relationship with our outsourced encoding team: priorities, workload and follow-up, across new, vintage and second-hand products.
Own the quality gate. Accept or reject every encoded batch against the standard yourself, with no escalation needed. Only cases the standard doesn’t cover go to Andy.
Run intake. Own the request channel from Sales, Ops and Marketing: the information required, turnaround times and triage. Requests that don’t meet the agreed urgency criteria go into the normal queue.
Keep the catalogue clean in Odoo. Maintain product lists and supplier records (contacts, VAT, discounts, lead times, supplier references), keep the Brand Master List up to date, and generate SKUs for logistics until Odoo does it automatically.
Onboard brands, one schema each. Turn every brand’s catalogue, price list, variants and surcharges into a clear schema, defined once and reused on every product. 20+ brands are already queued. This is new: today nobody has the time to do it properly.
Write the brand rules our engineers automate. For each brand, translate Andy’s common standard into specific rules precise enough for the tech team to automate.
Close the loop. Chase tech on stuck encoding items, check translations and handle routine corrections.
You will be judged on two numbers: the defect rate at acceptance on brand batches, and the time from request to product live.
Profile
You’ve run catalogue, product content or marketplace operations at an e-commerce player, marketplace or retailer, across many brands or suppliers.
You’ve managed an outsourced team or vendor against quality criteria, and you held the line when batches fell short.
You look at a messy supplier price list with nested variants and surcharges and see a clean, structured schema.
You write rules precise enough for an engineer to automate without coming back with questions.
You protect the queue: you can tell Sales “this isn’t urgent”, kindly and with reasons.
Strong spreadsheet skills and hands-on ERP or PIM experience (Akeneo, Salsify or similar).
Odoo is a plus.
Nice to have: furniture or interiors background, experience with AI-assisted data tooling, French.
What this role isn’t. It isn’t brand marketing, purchasing or analytics. You won’t negotiate with brands or build dashboards. You’ll run the operation that gets their products live, accurately and fast.

2. Interview with Markus (Head of Product)
