What is the project?
The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve:
- A 1.5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM);
- Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);
- An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.
The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.
What you will do:
Develop and maintain the Project Controls function of the Definition and Execution Phase Plan. Lead and direct the Project controls team in accordance with those 2 phases. Manage change control, cost control and budget. Manage information system and processes.
Concretely, your tasks will be:
o Structure all schedules, budgets, progress updates, request for payments and accrual reports according to the Works Breakdown Structure.
o Establish the project schedule in a multi-layer scheduling model that meets the requirements of the Client (milestones, scope categories, control accounts, work packages and activities)
o Define resources at level 3 and 2 for all contract types.
o Provide native scheduling files when requested.
o Submit Oncore job set form or Ecosys version in conjunction with the Work Breakdown Structure dictionary.
o Establish project risk profile, including the identification of discrete risk including opportunities with overall detailed assessment of probability and impacts.
o Establish Proposed Risk Management Plan.
o Ensure alignment with the Client Project Risk Management Manual and processes.
