We are looking for a Business Development Director to join our team in Brussels.

As Sustainability Director, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our business strategy for international organizations, driving innovation and impact in areas such as climate change, biodiversity, and circular economy. Beyond shaping strategic initiatives, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and talent development to ensure sustainable growth. This is a unique opportunity to lead high-profile projects and create a strong, motivated team that delivers excellence.

Your role:

  • Lead business development for the Cities & Environment subsector, focusing on DG ENV, CINEA, DG MARE and related EU bodies and also United Nations.
  • Drive and execute the business plan aligned with NTT DATA's strategic objectives and revenue targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in EU institutions, leveraging existing framework contracts and exploring new opportunities.
  • Coordinate high-quality proposals for EU public procurement, ensuring compliance and competitiveness.
  • Lead commercial visits, networking events, and strategic partnerships to strengthen market influence.
  • Lead project delivery end-to-end, ensuring client satisfaction and profitability while mentoring junior team members.
  • Build and grow a high-performing team, fostering talent development and creating a collaborative, inclusive work environment.

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business, engineering, or similar.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in business development for EU institutions, with proven success in European Commission, in particular DG ENV.
  • Deep knowledge of EU climate and environmental policies (Green Deal, Fit for 55, EU ETS, taxonomy, RepowerEU).
  • Strong network within EU agencies and ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Experience in European public procurement and bid management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills; fluent in English (Spanish is a plus).
  • Knowledge or strong curiosity about digitalization trends and technological developments impacting sustainability and public sector innovation.
