The intern will be involved in the following main missions:
• Support in monitoring and maintaining mycelium cultures in the laboratory:
· Observation and implementation of mycelium growth protocols
· Participation in the selection of optimal substrates for mycelium production
· Assistance in monitoring culture production in the lab
· Contribution to the analysis of results and synthesis of collected data
· Writing protocols and reports
· Literature review and research
• Assistance in prototyping growth molds:
· Drawing and designing molds suitable for mycelium growth
· 3D modeling
· Mold fabrication (3D printing, thermoforming, laser cutting)
· Help with integrating systems for optimizing growth (lighting, pressure)
Student in Industrial Design or Materials Engineer
• A scientific, technological, and experimental curiosity
• Interest in R&D of bio-based materials
• Interest in hands-on experimentation, especially material characterization and processing (molding, 3D printing, etc.)
• Ability to apply knowledge to problem-solving
• Practical mindset, attention to detail, and rigor
• Strong teamwork skills in an international, multidisciplinary environment
• Good command of English
• Previous experience with mycelium and/or design research involving living materials is a plus
