Job Description:

Localisation : Aimargues (30 min from Montpellier)

Type of contract : Permanent (CDI)

This position will focus on activities related to the below Royal Canin Global Regulatory agenda items:

  • Market Access Strategy: Enable Royal Canin products which should become part of our core at a 7-10 year horizon to access the market under the best conditions (with speed & with the ability to promote its distinctiveness)

  • Regulatory Sciences: ensuring that the voice of Royal Canin is heard in discussions with Governmental bodies on tools, standards, and approaches to assess the safety, efficacy, quality, and performance of regulated products

  • Regulatory Advocacy: shaping technical requirements of product-related regulations and standards to protect our core business & support our health transformation. Ensure regulations & standards are based on sciences and do not create unnecessary barriers to market access.

Activities under the above three areas all have a time to impact beyond 7 years and requires strategic thinking, problem-solving skills and ability to influence.

  • Min 5 years of experience in a R&D and/or Regulatory affairs roles

  • Proactive, confident and action-oriented individual

  • Ability to convey content in an audience-appropriate and compelling manner.

  • Proven ability to influence

  • Ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational and functional boundaries

  • Fluent in English, any additional language is a plus

  • For selected new businesses, perform assessments, with the contribution of our regional regulatory teams, to:

  • Identify adjustments needed to existing regulations and standards and/or needs for new regulations and standards to facilitate access to the market of new solutions

  • Anticipate how the future regulatory environment will impact compliance criteria to be met by products & claims as well as technical & sanitary requirements to be met by raw materials & products crossing borders.

  • Define Royal Canin positions on prioritized advocacy topics, protecting the existing business and opening opportunities for the growth of the existing portfolio and for new businesses

  • Coordinate/Project manage the support to various local/regional science and regulatory advocacy activities

  • Ensure Royal Canin speaks as one voice on selected topics (e.g.  How to guarantee the performance of petfood for nutritional and veterinary purpose; How to promote the benefits of petfood and pet supplements on the health of cats & dogs, Data package needed to substantiate the safety and efficacy of ingredients)

  • Assessing and organizing complex and technical scientific information and creating written materials to support regulatory sciences & advocacy efforts in a clear, convincing, and audience-appropriate manner. Materials may include articles, talking points, presentation materials, and summary reports;

  • Ensure the coordination's of local advocacy activities running in parallel on similar/the same themes

  • Organize best-practice sharing across markets to continuously improve our WoW on Regulatory Sciences and Advocacy

  • May represent Royal Canin in selected external forums with global impact on those themes

  • Regular touchpoints with local markets for technical and strategic guidance

  • Define and track KPIs measuring the execution and impact of Regulatory Sciences and Advocacy activities

  • Support developing relationships with key external stakeholders

  • Act as a point of contact and/or subject matter expert for internal stakeholders on selected topics
