The Agicap Data department is looking for a Data Scientist with an NLP or Representation Learning focus.

Agicap is developing a suite of services around cashflow management for SMEs.

Agicap Data comprises 15 people across Data Science, Data Analysis and Data Engineering operating under the same department for best cross collaboration. The Data Science team in particular handles projects falling under:

• Improving product features: categorizing transactions, predicting revenue, recommendations, developing automated advice…
  -Assisting our business focused teams: growing our customer base, understanding our client needs, reducing client churn, detecting fraud, answering strategic questions for management, etc.

NLP or Representation Learning specific projects include:

• Better bank transaction labels personalized categorization
• Smart aggregation of client transactions category trees
• Extracting meaning from our customer care chat

As a Data Scientist at Agicap, you are going to:

• Design machine learning pipelines iteratively. From literature review to monitoring through development and production. You will also design and deploy statistical tests to evaluate model changes.
• Contribute to strategic brainstorming to help scope and prioritize initiatives. Partner with Data Analysis to gain expert business knowledge and Data Engineering to deploy every model effectively. Collaborate with internal business partners to iteratively refine project scopes to optimize business impact on their roadmaps.
• Mentor other data scientists when their projects have aspects that fall under your realm of expertise.
• Evolve in a fast paced, changing environment.

The role can be based in the Paris or the Lyon office and will offer partial remote. The team’s vibe is welcoming and highly collaborative.

• Master’s degree (science Grandes Ecoles a plus) and/or PhD in STEM (very much welcomed).
• 2+ years of experience. Exceptional candidates with less professional experience will also be considered. Special focus on NLP and Representation learning
  Tech skills:
  => Mandatory: Python proficiency and basic knowledge of SQL.
  =>Optional: Software engineering in Python, like environment management, packaging, and testing. Competency in shell scripting, Docker, and deployment to production (esp. in a GCP ecosystem). Experiences with ML infrastructure platforms, such as Vertex, Databricks, or Sagemaker.
• Agility & autonomy: Ability to multitask on various projects and to pivot according to the business needs. Desire to set your own scientific course, to present your plans to the broader team and engage in constructive brainstorming.
• Good communication skills: ability to translate the science into business meaning. Comfortable with exposure to top management on data science project presentations.
