​The Real World Evidence (RWE) Team Leader will manage a team of 3 to 5 Data Analysts that will be responsible for using analyzing of pre-existing data to investigate research questions generated by colleagues from health economics and value assessment (HEVA), medical affairs, business operations & strategy (BO&S) and commercial product teams. The Team Leader will allocate Analyst capacity to meet the RWE needs of these Sanofi Genzyme (SGz) functions and the RWE group located in the Chief Digital Office that maintains Sanofi data assets via primary data collection, license of secondary data sources, and de-identified clinical trial data. These responsibilities require demonstrated experience managing technical professionals and a strong background in statistics, statistical programming, observational research design, and experience in the pharmaceutical industry. This position will report to the SGz RWE Representative.

​JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The RWE Team Leader will manage a team of Analysts responsible for conducting analyses that Sanofi has defined as “Conventional Projects.”  These projects are intended to provide insights to inform key internal decisions.  These projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Characterizing disease epidemiology based on diagnostic code and/or treatment codes

  • Assess study feasibility based on patient population(s) available for analysis

  • Descriptive cohort analyses based on a limited number of outcomes

The RWE Team Leader will also be responsible for the following:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (mainly HEOR and Medical) to ensure RWE projects /needs are aligned with business priorities across relevant customer groups.

  • Responsible overall for the delivery on time of RWE projects, using appropriate data & analytical tools and methodology

  • Manage the allotment of multiple resources across projects concurrently to ensure successful completion of projects

  • Develop a deep understanding of Sanofi’s suite of digital tools and platforms

  • Mentor junior colleagues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

​Education:

  • ​BA/BS + 5 years of relevant experience OR MS/PhD + 2 years of relevant experience,

  • Academic training in the areas of mathematics, statistics/biostatistics, statistical programming, observational research, epidemiology, health economics, or a related quantitative field

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in epidemiology or health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) at a pharmaceutical company or delivering products or services to life science partners and/or payer organizations

Required ​Experience:

  • ​Proficient in advanced statistical methods

  • Experience applying epidemiological methods

  • Experience analyzing multiple sources of secondary patient data (eg. electronic medical records, administrative claims)

  • Demonstrated experience with business intelligence stacks, data visualization frameworks (Qlik, Tableau, Microstrategy etc.) and integration with data technologies

  • Demonstrated track record of managing teams of technical professionals

  • Experience using existing RWE platforms such as AETION, PANALGO will be a plus

Required Skills

  • Expertise with R, SAS, python and/or pyspark.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage team resources, prioritize competing tasks among Analysts, develop talent among direct reports, manage performance of team members

  • Excellent organizational, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate technical details to non-expert audiences

  • Ability to communicate effectively the methods and results of complex analyses to a range of audiences, both orally and in writing with peers, senior managers and internal customer

  • Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and resources concurrently

  • Strong experience in cross-functional teams and decision making
