We are looking for a motivated Legal Operations Manager to join Salsify’s growing Legal team to run the day-to-day operations of the department. As the Company enters its next stage of hyper-growth, this person will build and improve processes, and select and implement systems, all designed to make the Legal department operate more efficiently. This individual will report directly to our VP, Legal.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Serve as Legal lead for designing, selecting, and implementing efficient processes and systems to help Legal scale to drive business results at a high-growth technology company.
  • Design and implement the department’s information governance and records management programs, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external experts, including forms, training decks, internal FAQs and checklists, knowledge capture, records repository, and internal knowledge base.
  • Build and own the organization and maintenance of a filing system for contracts and legal documents, including administration of a contract management system and related workflows.
  • Report on key operational metrics for the department to inform decision-making, including benchmarking against top-flight Legal departments at peer technology companies.
  • Manage department forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, serving as Legal’s primary liaison with Finance and Information Security, and assist with headcount planning and staffing ratios for Legal.
  • Evaluate and improve Legal’s intake and matter management processes and tools, including assignment and management of Legal’s workload.
  • Work cross-functionally to design and to implement scalable vendor management policies and processes.
  • Work closely with our VP, Legal to engage in strategic planning, including coordinating preparation for periodic Legal offsite sessions.
  • Develop strategies and processes to manage Legal recruiting and to oversee onboarding of new Legal team members.
  • Coordinate Legal's delivery of outbound training to the Company and inbound training of Legal department members.
  • Study legal operations industry trends and recommend changes and improvements to the department’s processes and tools.
  • Manage and support various Legal-related projects as they arise.

You'll Enjoy This Role if You Have:

  • 3+ years of meaningful relevant experience, preferably at an in-house legal department(s).
  • A self-starter with a desire to improve processes, rather than to shy away from such opportunities, to enable business growth at scale.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, problem-solving skills, business acumen, proactivity, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in developing and implementing legal department technology solutions (e.g., contract and document management, self-service contracting, approval workflow, e-signature, knowledge management, e-billing, etc.)
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, including executives and senior management.
  • Superior project management and organizational skills, with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • An independent and strategic thinker who is a strong team player and who is willing to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and the ability to prioritize and to work well under pressure.
  • A proven track record of working collaboratively with a sense of humor and resiliency, especially under timelines, to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in SaaS, or a global technology company, with a history of M&A, including integration of acquired companies, a plus.
