The VP Compensation and Benefits is responsible for designing fair and attractive compensation and bonus programs, evaluating how effective the benefit packages are in terms of employee satisfaction, and ensuring the Company’s compensation plans comply with the relevant legislation.

The VP Compensation and Benefits establishes best practices in every country the organization operates to attract high-quality employees and reduce turnover. The position responsibilities also include researching employee motives, implementing appealing rewards, and tailoring benefit programs based on staff needs.

To be successful in this role, a good knowledge of Labour legislations and being familiar with organizational psychology and employee engagement are needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the development, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits programs (designing creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans).
  • Ensuring salaries and benefits comply with the current legislation about human rights and pay equity (ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations).
  • Identifying trends and implementing new practices to engage and motivate employees (renewing the Company’s compensation plans with monetary and non-monetary benefits based on employee needs).
  • Overseeing the participation in salary surveys and monitoring salary survey data to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved thanks to a strong collaboration with the VP Culture.
  • Keeping track of prevailing pay rates and making sure the offer competitive compensation plans at a global level, by monitoring the effectiveness of both existing compensation and benefits practices and recommending changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Structuring compensation in ways that will yield the highest value for the organization (local taxes knowledge and impacts, etc.).
  • Evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs. Developing techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data.
  • Providing advice to corporate staff on pay decisions and policy interpretations.
  • Requirements:

  • 10 to 15 years of experience as Compensation and Benefits Director or similar role.
  • Knowledge of building compensation packages and benefits programs for various departments and seniority levels.
  • Excellent understanding of job evaluation and job analysis systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing subordinates.
  • Experience with employee satisfaction surveys.
  • Fluent in English.
