We build Lefty.io: the influence marketing platform that enables hundreds of Lifestyle brands and agencies to optimize their strategy for social media. Launched in 2018, the company is profitable and rapidly growing with offices in Paris, New-York and Shanghai.

We have ambitious goals for the years to come and we are hiring backend software engineers to grow the product team.

Role

We have built a clean code base and modular infrastructure that spans all the facts of a modern data platform: crawling, filtering and enriching data, indexing, serving.

As a backend engineer you will get to perform a wide variety of tasks, for instance:

• Optimizing the reliability, performance and bandwidth of our crawlers.
• Craft algorithms to enrich data, filter out spammy accounts, dynamically merge profiles, etc…
• Store and process big data at scale.
• Write business logic and the APIs that power our various frontends.
• Integrate third-party APIs for instance e-commerce and payment providers.

Tech stack

The vast majority of our tools and servers are written in Java 17.

REST APIs and server to server communication are both implemented using gRPC.

We work with a wide variety of storage solution, most notably MySQL (using Hibernate), ES, Cassandra, S3.

We also employ Typescript for some parts of the crawling infrastructure, and python for machine learning.

As software engineers, we take very special care of the code quality, readability and maintainability in every details. We are looking for new hires who share the same mindset.

Remote policy

We allow employee to work from home 1 day per week on an ongoing basis.

In addition we have a flexible remote policy to accommodate for traveling needs, emergencies, etc

However we are not looking for full-remote candidates.
