We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Trip Search Team, which today consists of 7 Senior Software Engineers and 1 Engineering Manager.

You will take part in building the heart of our new technical platform based on a state of the art service oriented architecture and contributing to build the algorithms behind the search engine that allow us to match millions of travelers together.

The core of our stack is composed of Java, Spring Boot, gRPC, ElasticSearch, Redis, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.

As a Software Engineer, you will regularly learn and contribute to the development of the stack by developing features and helping the team to build a cloud compatible architecture.

What you will directly contribute to:

• Build new, exciting features in the engine that serves search queries on the BlaBlaCar platform and aims to find the best match between driver and passengers;

• Integrate new bus providers’ APIs in the search engine to offer even more means of transport to our members;

• Participate in the definition of the features with the product and design teams to find the most relevant solutions for our members;

• Participate in the migration of our stack to the cloud (GCP) and run our services in production as a full devops organization;

• Participate in the definition of the architecture to find the best solutions to achieve high performance and reliability.

What you will need to be successful:

• A first experience in software engineering with an object-oriented language;

• Eager to learn new technologies;

• Comfortable with change, uncertainty, and a high velocity environment;

• Curious, autonomous, and collaborative attitude;

• Product oriented mindset;

• Fluent in spoken and written English, proficiency in French is a plus.
