The Mission

Algolia enables businesses around the world by providing a feature rich Search & Discovery platform that is highly configurable and tunable to any market and/or use case. It is this team's responsibility to help our developers & business users in making the most out of their Algolia search & discovery experiences.

The Opportunity

The Search group develops end to end packaged services, adding value to the core search engine. We develop applications like Dynamic Synonym Suggestions, AI Query Categorization, AI Query Suggestions, that are tailored to the customer’s business, so that end users can find what they are looking for through our search experience.

The Search group exposes tools & services aimed at helping developers and business owners understand how well their search and discovery experience is doing. We are looking for someone to lead the UX, continue to develop a strong culture of starting with understanding the customer through research, experimentation and validation.

Your role will consist of:

• Be a leader for the team's UX, representing the customer’s needs in team discussions.
• Designing elegant experiences, based on data and insights, that solve customer problems.
• Partner with PMs, engineers, other designers and stakeholders across the company to deliver products and features from conception to launch.
• Be a creative mentor to other designers, and help the team grow.
• Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale verbally and visually to a variety of audiences.
• Own the success or failure of your design work: validate your designs and initiate improvements.
• Constantly seek and provide design feedback.

Experience Required:

• 7+ years product design experience.
• Expertise working in Figma in a team setting.
• Experience shipping quality products in a high growth environment.
• We expect you to be able to work and communicate across the organization at all levels. You must have experience deeply collaborating with research and product management.
• Strong analytical, creative and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within a UX development process: research, problem definition, ideation, solution design, validation and iteration.
• Strong communicator of design work and your rationale behind proposals.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills required.

Nice to have:

• Prior work experience on a developer-first, self-serve product.
• Passion for working collaboratively across a dynamic, international workspace.
