Volta Medical is an innovative, data-inspired US and European-based startup aimed at creating and bringing to the market cutting-edge AI software products to revolutionize interventional cardiac electrophysiology.
Volta has created a data collection and enrichment ecosystem for curated EP lab data which is fed into a physician validated, machine learning methodology to support complex AF solutions. Our newest technology, Volta AF-Xplorer, is a data-driven AI decision support system that easily integrates into the standard physician workflow, providing a patient-tailored approach to complex AF and AT procedures.
Our dynamic, innovative team is made up of 100+ collaborators in the EU and USA from a wide variety of backgrounds including engineers, business professionals and physicians, working together to develop AI solutions that help electrophysiologists help patients.

Data Analysis Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of incoming data types, formats, and structures. Analyze new data sources to enrich the existing knowledge base. Data Extraction & Formatting Develop and maintain tools for data extraction and formatting. Integrate processed data into the Voltaplex system. Ensure tool consistency and maintain user documentation. Propose and implement data standardization strategies. Data Quality Checks Design and implement validation procedures and tools for pre-integration data checks. Develop correction mechanisms to improve the quality of data already present in Voltaplex. Automation & Monitoring Automate recurring data processing tasks. Define performance KPIs and implement monitoring systems for processes and KPIs Profile
3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role. Strong proficiency in Python; familiarity with Rust bindings is a plus. Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including proprietary formats. Familiarity with signal data and signal processing techniques (filtering...) is a must. Familiarity with 3D mesh data and associated techniques (segmentation, interpolation...) is a must. Ability to reverse-engineer undocumented data formats and systems. Solid understanding of data validation, transformation, and integration processes. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Experience working in cross-functional teams including Data Collection, Data Science, R&D, Product, and Innovation, with the ability to operate independently within a defined scope and contribute collaboratively to decision-making. Collaborative mindset aligned with team-first and service-oriented values. Familiarity with compliance challenges related to medical data and AI regulation is appreciated. Curiosity and interest in the medical domain, particularly electrophysiology, to ensure meaningful interpretation and handling of complex data. Prior experience in electrophysiology data systems is a plus (e.g., Cardiolab, Carto, Rythmia, EnsiteX). Fluent French is required, alongside professional proficiency in English. Work Environment/Location
The role is part of the Data team, which is evolving into a hybrid team of web developers and data engineers. This role is based in Marseille, France. Volta offers up to 2 days of remote work per week. This role involves strong collaboration with multiple internal teams: Data Collection, Data Science, Innovation, Product, and R&D. The Data team operates under two core values: Team First: Problems are solved collectively, and decisions are made as a group.
