The opportunity

Data is at the heart of every decision made at Virtuo:

• All teams make data-driven decisions thanks to the Business Intelligence tool developed by the data team
• Strategic decisions, such as pricing strategy, supply&demand management, and marketing spending follow recommendations from machine learning algorithms
• Machine learning is also used to analyze and predict individual customer behavior.

In the team, you will work on data mining topics in support of operational teams (marketing, logistics, customer service, finance), defining the underlying architecture of our Business Intelligence. This role could lead you to become an expert in analytics or specialize as a data scientist (algorithms) or as a data engineer.

🎯 Your missions:

Your mission consists in shaping the Business Intelligence tools used at Virtuo:

• Provide feature engineering that allows leveraging decisions from data
• Coordinate the work of analysts from other teams, ensure code quality and analyses’ relevance
• Provide ad-hoc analyses and deep dive Virtuo’s metrics thanks to your specific analytical and technical knowledge
• Promote and develop an efficient usage of tools such as Looker by conducting workshops and rolling out best practices for development and analysis
• Work closely with analysts, data scientists, and data engineers
• Your role will consist in building the underlying code infrastructure that will allow the analysts from operational teams (logistics, marketing, finance, product) to build operational dashboards.

• An academic background in Engineering with a focus on Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or Applied Maths
• 1+ year of relevant work experience (internships included) in a high-growth business environment/startup or consulting
• A strong business sense and ability to rapidly identify opportunities for improvement with a creative approach
• Hands-on attitude and you are not afraid of making mistakes
• Good communication skills in English and French, both written and oral.

Technical knowledge:
Mandatory

• You are passionate about working with numbers, you have excellent analytical skills
• You are skilled in SQL, Python, and Excel/Google sheets

Nice to have

• You have experience with Github and code review processes
• You can use Data Visualization Technologies: Looker or similar alternatives
• You have some experience with BigQuery
