Descriptif du poste

Via is using technology to transform transportation around the globe. From changing a single person’s daily commute to reducing humanity’s collective environmental footprint — we’ve got huge goals. Our 500+ partnerships worldwide include new mobility solutions for people with special needs, improved services for senior citizens, reduction of congestion at work sites, and improving public transit between suburban areas and city centers, just to name a few.

We are looking for an Associate General Manager for one of our largest and most impactful partnerships in the DACH region. In partnership with the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), we are complementing and extending existing public transport infrastructure in Berlin by filling the gaps in transit, and enabling passengers needing barrier-free transportation to access public transport hubs in a more convenient and flexible way.

You will directly report into the Director managing the Berlin region and be their trusted advisor. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who is not afraid to roll-up their sleeves and get into the nitty gritty while truly shaping strategy, P&L and our long-term relationship with our partner.

Note: this role is also posted externally as Associate General Manager, which we think accurately describes the scope of the role. Our internal name is Strategy & Operations (Associate) Principal. We are considering professionals of various levels of experience, which is why this role could ultimately be offered at the Associate Principal or Principal level.

What You'll Do:

  • Shape our strategy and P&L results for one of our largest and most complex deployment, which combines SaaS solutions with significant on the ground operational support
  • Closely monitor qualitative and quantitative insights from our deployments –from extracting and analyzing data and building financial models – to define strategies to enhance our operational efficiency and financial performance
  • Work closely with our Berlin General Manager and team members in Strategy, Operations, Algorithm and Product to increase scalability
  • Recommend strategies that strike the right balance between service quality and operational excellence while respecting our SLAs
  • Be Via’s champion for the partner: lead strategic conversations to scale our partnership to the next level

What We Offer:

  • Strategic impact: This is a senior role where you will have the chance to truly shape Via’s strategy, mobility solutions in Berlin and sharing insights with Via team members globally
  • Trust and autonomy: we know which challenges we want to tackle but we will let you decide how to approach them –and be ready to support you along the way
  • A stimulating environment: meet impact-driven managers and colleagues with whom to discuss the best approaches to improve our mobility solutions
  • Long-term career opportunities: whether you grow your expertise by tackling new issues or decide to explore a new career path, we’re in it for the long run
  • Impactful work: we are having an influence on the ability of people to move around and access more opportunities in over 35 countries.

Who You Are:

  • You are empathetic and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to drive change.
  • 4+ years of experience working with data and / or in external-facing roles: you will analyze financial data and present your findings to our partner
  • Fluency in German and English: you will be presenting and discussing your conclusions with our partners
  • Keen to take ownership: you will uncover trends and make data-driven recommendations to improve our business
  • Strong communication skills: you have the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience

Our Values

  • Smart: We dive head first into the most challenging problems and design creative, intelligent solutions — on our customers’ behalf.
  • Human: We are relatable, warm, friendly, and occasionally vulnerable. We are always trying our best to do the most good for people and the planet. When we mess up, we own it, apologize, and keep it moving.
  • Shared: Beyond rides, we have a culture of sharing. That means knowledge, ideas, tasks, resources are all a communal experience. We are an empathetic group; we are on this ride together.

We’re Via, and we build technology that changes the way the world moves. We pioneered the TransitTech category to ensure that the future of transportation is shared, dynamic public mobility — the kind that reduces carbon emissions across congested cities, minimizes reliance on private cars, and provides everyone with accessible, efficient, and affordable ways of getting around.

With the addition of Remix into our portfolio, we created the first end-to-end TransitTech solution for cities and transit agencies, offering world-class software, service design, and operational expertise to fundamentally improve the way the world moves.

Via was founded with the guiding principle that we go further when we go together. We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. All backgrounds, identities, and voices are welcomed and celebrated at Via.
