Attached to the R&D team, you will be in charge of the development of the Umisation process at laboratory and pilot scale, and of the development of new products resulting from this technology. Thus, you will play a key role in Umiami’s development.

Your main missions will be the following:

• Sourcing of the ingredients needed for the trials and management of the ingredient supplier relationships. Participation in the construction of the ecosystem of scientific partners
• Tests and manipulations: planning of experimental plans, writing of the recipes, realization of the tests in the laboratory and writing of the reports
• Critical analysis of the results, and preparation of the following tests within the time and budget constraints
• Physical and chemical characterization of the results obtained
• Design and conduct sensory analyses either with consumers or expert panel to ensure the product meets consumer expectations.
• Design and conduct shelf-life testing through sensory and laboratory analysis to ensure the right quality until end of shelf-life.
• Be a driving force behind the R&D team’s strategy (timings, budget, needs) and product development strategy
• Capitalize on knowledge related to the Plant-Based universe: bibliography, conferences, writing documents and presentations…
• Participation in exhibitions to source ingredients or represent Umiami
• Management of a laboratory technician and R&D trainees

Seeked profile:

• Master degree in Food Engineering with preferably a specialization in formulation
• Prior experience in food product development required
• You are positive by nature, have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy taking on technological and operational challenges
• Motivated and operational from the very first week, you don’t hesitate to seek by yourself the elements necessary for the realization of your mission.
• You are creative in your search for solutions and know how to convey your convictions to various stakeholders
• Responsible and organized, you like to work in a team and you wish to occupy a key position in a company in full development.
• Fluent English and French required

Work conditions:

• Contract: CDI - Full time.
• Location: France / Ile de France / 78-Les Loges-en-Josas and Paris.Occasional travels.
• Starting date : As soon as possible.
