Purpose of this role
We’re looking for a Consumer PR Manager to drive awareness and consideration of Trainline as the go-to app for all your train travel needs in our key markets outside the UK.
Working within a growing Communications team, this newly created role will be focussed on driving consumer PR programmes in Trainline’s key markets, specifically France and Italy. While your time will be skewed towards driving the consumer PR agenda in France, with agency support for campaigns, you will also be responsible for managing our established and retained agency team in Italy, who execute both day-to-day PR activity and campaigns. During this exciting period of rapid growth, you will be at the centre of a team that is looking to scale as the business expands across Europe.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic team player with a passion for delivering creative PR campaigns and strong experience in driving consumer media coverage.
Based in our Paris office alongside three other members of the Communications team, you will report into the Senior Communications Manager based in London and work closely with the Brand, Social Media, SEO, CRM, Insights, Commercial and Product teams. You’ll also be managing agency teams based in Paris and Milan.

4+ years’ experience working in consumer PR in France, either in an agency or in-house
Taking ownership of small to medium scale PR programmes from planning through to delivery and evaluation
Working in a fast-paced environment, highly motivated with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and prioritise own workload
Strong knowledge of the consumer media landscape in France
A good sense of what makes an interesting news hook and how to communicate this in a compelling way to deliver media coverage
Working with a variety of stakeholders
Budget management
Excellent media relations ability – confident with picking up the phone to journalists and get a thrill from pitching a story
Strong writing skills and a keen eye for detail
A genuine interest in the tech industry and desire to stay up to date with the latest industry developments and trends; culturally tuned in and inquisitive
A self-starting attitude, and you’ll need to be organised, results-focused and a team player
Native speaker in French and business fluent in English; proficiency in the Italian language is a bonus
Working with, or for, a tech or travel company (Desirable)
Managing a PR agency (Desirable)
Working on campaigns in other countries, ideally Italy (Desirable)
Knowledge of the consumer media landscape in Italy, since you will be working closely with and managing our Italian PR agency (Desirable)
