Swan is looking for a strong Finance Manager to build the foundations of a best-in-class and business partnership focused finance team (1 VP Finance, 1 apprentice converting into full-time in September).

Swan is a regulated financial institution that needs build scalable processes & reporting: you’ll help structure our finance function and contribute on strategic financial projects (Series B, taking accounting in-house, internationalization).

As a Finance Manager at Swan, your key responsibilities will include:

Accounting

• Serve as the company’s expert on accounting and reporting matters, partnering with other departments on structuring policies, and advising with respect to accounting implications.
• Oversee all accounting operations including billing, account receivables (A/R), account payables (A/P), General Ledger (GL) and client banking.
• Set and manage the implementation of accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen our internal controls.
• Coordinate across Swan’s product and engineering teams to build an integrated and automated solution for client billing, and bring accounting in-house.
• Manage teams of external accounting firms that run the day-to-day accounting, payroll and other accounting functions of our international operation, and over time bring this work in-house by building and managing a team.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Produce monthly reporting of our 3 statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and report variances (actuals vs. budget).
• Contribute to the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
• Prepare financial documents & data room for fundraising (Series B).

• 4-5 years experience in a top tier accounting/audit or transaction services firm.
• An accounting professional with ambitions of fast career growth that will be leading a critical role in a world-class fintech company.
• Excited about the challenge to build an accounting, reporting and tooling structure of a fast-growing and exciting startup environment.
• Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects with different deadlines, and the adaptability to adjust priorities as business needs require.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills (in French and English), excellent team player and fun to work with.
