JOB PURPOSE 

Sanofi’s Immuno-Oncology Therapeutic Area based in Vitry-sur-Seine, France, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Scientist with significant experience in Immuno-Oncology (IO), in particular on lymphocytes deep biology and costimulatory/coinhibitory checkpoints. The candidate will be responsible for applying scientific expertise to initiate, design, optimize, and execute in vitro studies to evaluate and advance new drug candidates in the Immuno-Oncology portfolio, with high rigor and excellence in execution. The candidate will have a great opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary research environment and will work interacting with different scientists in Immuno-Oncology and in other departments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead transverse projects, define the strategy, planning, coordination of activities and their execution in alignment with the Immuno-Oncology global strategy
  • Contribute actively in the laboratory to develop and implement new primary in vitro cell models and immune assays for deep mechanistic understanding of T cell biology, with PBMC and TILs of cancer patients
  • Provide scientific expertise and innovative ideas, review data and publications to support analysis of mechanisms and pathways, monitor and provide critical assessment of competitor results
  • Work independently, pro-actively for the rigorous execution of experiments in alignment with lab processes to be an impactful contributor to project team(s)
  • Analyze, interpret, and present experimental results at lab and project team meetings
  • Manage transverse relationships with collaborators within and outside Immuno-Oncology to advance projects, including the monitoring of potential external collaborations
  • Prepare documentation to support project in clinical development and exchange with Health authority agencies
  • Prepare posters, publications in peer-reviewed journals, research and clinical/regulatory documentation in accordance with Sanofi quality standards
  • Communicate with managers and other collaborators in an open and effective manner
  • Provide and promote support for operational procedures according to Sanofi values, ethics and security

PROFILE 

  • PhD in Immunology or Immuno-Oncology with publications in internationally recognized journals, expert in costimulatory checkpoint biology
  • Experienced in leading multidisciplinary matrixed teams is appreciated
  • 2+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical industry is a plus
  • Strong experience in primary cell culture and complex immune cell assay techniques including multi-color flow cytometry
  • Expertise in T cell biology, characterization, and functional assays is highly appreciated
  • Curiosity, flexibility, and team spirit
  • Willingness to work in collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Pro-active and independent in the daily laboratory research activity
