CONTEXT

Sanofi’s Immuno-Oncology Therapeutic Area based in Vitry-sur-Seine, France, is seeking a highly qualified and motivated PhD level scientist with significant experience in Immunology and in particular on innate immune signalling, myeloid and T cell biology in cancer to join the novel target and pathways cluster.

The candidate will serve as an experienced scientist for Immunology-Oncology assays development, guiding the research and ensuring its successful execution.

The candidate will collaborate with Immuno-Oncology Research Therapeutic Area and partner functions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Use his/her depth of immunological understanding to solve biological problems, thereby developing analytical strategies for the identification of novel therapeutic targets
  • Contribute actively in the laboratory to develop and implement new in vitro immune cell assays for target validation, drug activity evaluation and deep mechanistic understanding of new therapeutic approaches
  • Work autonomously, pro-actively for the rigorous execution of experiments in alignment with lab processes to be an impactful contributor to project team(s)
  • Be an idea generator and advance cutting-edge science to enable continual innovation
  • Advance research that underpins high-profile publications presentations and patent
  • Present at group meetings, global project team meetings, conferences
  • Adhere to any HSE requirements, ethics rules according to Sanofi values
  • Communicate with managers and other collaborators in an open and effective manner 

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • PhD in Immuno-Oncology with publications in internationally recognised journals in this area, international postdoc welcome

Experience & knowledge

  • At least 3-5+ years’ experience in relevant Immunological laboratory techniques (cytometry, cell biology, primary cell culture)
  • Expertise in innate immune signalling, myeloid/T cell biology in cancer, in vitro characterisation and functional assays

Core competencies

  • Extensive cell-based assay development with a variety of readout including flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, HTRF
  • Strong team player with excellent oral and written communication, cooperate transversally
  • Dynamic, science driven, pro-active behaviour
  • English (writing and speaking) required
  • Basic French speaking skills welcome but not mandatory
