The department of translational in vivo Models (TIM) within Sanofi’s R&D in Montpellier, France has an opening for a motivated professional researcher with a strong background in molecular biology, immunology, and mouse genetics to work on projects related to molecular genetics/physiology/phenotyping of transgenic mouse models and reproductive axis

Responsibilities:

Job duties include molecular and phenotypic characterization of transgenic and knockout mouse models, interact closely with the peers and Sanofi’s researchers to define, and meet the needs of specific research projects in respect to production and delivery of engineered animal models. Further job duties include facilitating the management and continuous objectives for the production and breeding of genetically engineered mouse models. The incumbent will write reports and presentations. Additional key responsibilities are data preparation, compiling and entry into respective data base systems, ensure quality and integrity of all data collected.

An excellent lab with motivated staff and state-of-the art equipment is available to plan and validate the produced transgenic mouse strains.

The applicant works closely with the head of transgenic model’s division, principal investigators, or project pharmacologists to validate new transgenic models and study utilization. The candidate maintains interactive working relationships with model providers and CROs, colleagues, and other key stakeholders. He/she is knowledgeable in transgenic research and provides expertise for transgenic research models and offers the best strategy for model validation processing to meet project objectives in adequate timeframe and proper utilization of available resources.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Applicants should be a Ph.D. scientist, preferably with over 5 years of experience in mouse molecular genetics and immuno-phenotyping, have demonstrated expertise in theoretical knowledge of biological sciences and have detailed knowledge of GEM production and maintenance. The candidate should have strong motivation to contribute to developing genetically modified pre-clinical animal models and make recommendations and implement new procedures when appropriate. Excellent management and communication skills, the ability to lead and work collaboratively with associates, as well as proficiency in computer database management are requisites for this position.
