    Job description

    As a Quantitative Risk Manager at Qonto, you will be responsible for building risk models that will help quantify the risk at Qonto. You will be a key part of the team, who will provide inputs to our risk management framework and act as an ambassador for modelling methodology amongst Qonto and our partners.

    You will be integrated into the growing Risk function and will directly report to Arnaud.

    👩‍💻🧑‍💻As a Quantitative Risk Manager at Qonto, you will:

    • Build Risk Models: You will work alongside different teams such as Data, AML, Fraud and Finance; to build models that will help quantify the risks at Qonto. For example, operational risk, fraud or liquidity risk.
    • Act as both an ambassador and supervisor: You will be the “go-to” person when it comes to modelling, your mission will be to ensure that all models at Qonto are properly implemented by a methodology defined by yourself and the risk team but also evangelise the risk modelling approach amongst Qonto.
    • Strengthen the Anti-Money Launder/FT framework: You will improve the risk score model + review/build alerts to constantly monitor the client base and keep the risk at a low level
    • Secure our new credit activities with external partners: as part of the launch of the credit offering in France & Italy, you will help to build a monitoring system for the external credit portfolio, penetration rates, exposures and defaults experience. In the long term you will also help to build a credit offer internally.
    • Implement a risk monitoring and reporting framework: You will help the risk team to put in place their risk monitoring and reporting capability, by analysing and identifying all the data sources required to compute all risk indicators. You will also ensure that those risk indicators are always up to date.

    Preferred experience

    • Experience: You have at least 5 years of experience in, Data, Modelling or Quantitative Risk roles.
    • Education: You have a Master’s degree, with a specialisation in Banking, Insurance or Risk Management.
    • Mastery: You master Excel, SQL and Python and its financial or risk modelling applications. Experience in machine learning would be a plus.
    • Languages: You are fluent in English, French would be a plus.
    • Hyper-growth environment: You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, where deliverables and priorities rapidly evolve.
    • Analytical mindset: You have strong analytical skills and a critical mindset, and you are able to present the findings of your work to any type of audience.
