⭐ Mission & Impact:

To achieve Qonto's ambitious goals, we created the Data team, responsible for overseeing data analysis, engineering, and science. In just four years, our data department has grown from 5 to 60 people, and we continue expanding!

As an Analytics Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Data Engineering team to build our next-generation Data Platform. You will learn and grow with the Analytics Engineering team which stages the relevant transformations from the Data lake to the Data warehouse to ensure efficient data models.

What is our Data platform? Its main function is to provide high-quality and available data to all Qonto employees using the Modern Data Stack (Kafka, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Tableau). Specifically, it provides data to all data teams: BI, Data Science, and Data Products.

👩‍💻🧑‍💻As an Analytics Engineer at Qonto, you will :

•• Drive our growth by actively modeling, documenting, and rigorously testing the essential data layers that power our operations:

Staging tables: Where we refine raw data, ensuring it's polished and ready for action.

Core data table layer: The central hub for all granular data, covering clients, bank accounts, transactions, and more.

Reference data table layer: Constructing expansive tables that empower our analytics needs, aligning with the spirit of self-sufficiency and adaptability in our journey

•• Offer robust support to our data consumer teams by:

Facilitating the development of staging, core, and reference models upon request.

Guiding our Business Intelligence team in implementing the datamart layer and transitioning their Tableau dashboard queries to the updated data model.

•• Cultivate teamwork and synergy among Data Engineers, Backend Engineers, Data Analysts, and various business partners.

🎢 What Does a Successful Onboarding Entail?

After 30 Days

You've completed a comprehensive onboarding session, featuring presentations by Qonto team members from various departments, giving you a holistic understanding of our organization

You've received a 90-day plan thoughtfully provided by your manager.

You've connected with your immediate network, which includes the Data team, fellow Data Engineer and Analytics Engineer teams, Business Intelligence, and Backend teams, with guidance from your manager.

You've made an initial, albeit modest, contribution to our production codebase.

After 90 Days

You've successfully constructed a Core Model or have left a significant imprint on it.

You've forged strong bonds with the Backend and Data Ops teams.

You've accomplished your first project alongside the BI team, actively contributing to the creation of a dashboard that empowers our business teams to make data-driven decisions.

After One Year

You've seamlessly integrated into the Qonto culture, demonstrating independence and familiarity with our rituals (PDCA, Kaizen, Gemba).

You've taken ownership of a specific domain, such as Accounting, Billing, Fees, or Acquisition, becoming the go-to point of contact for our business teams.

You've honed your problem-solving skills and readily shared your insights and knowledge with your team, contributing to our collective growth and success.

🤝 Your future manager and department Head

Our Head of Data platform is David. He has a strong international career with multiple software and data engineering experiences. Before joining Qonto in January 2022, he was the CTO of several startups in the sports & video game industries.

What will he bring to you and the team?

David has extensive experience in Software Craftsmanship, Extreme programming, and Data streaming. You will be able to work in a team that values high-quality software! He also fosters and promotes a highly collaborative workplace, & embraces ambitious and difficult technical challenges.

Mastery: You have strong experience in SQL and Python, excel in data modeling best practices, and are knowledgeable about dimensional modeling. Bonus: you come with a background in addressing data governance challenges.

Delivery: You're a pro at tackling challenges with scalable solutions, leaving behind the complexities of over-engineering

Problem Solver: You excel at stepping back to see the bigger picture and skillfully challenge requirements while promoting collaboration

Team Player: You have good communication skills and know-how to interact with non-technical colleagues
