What is it to be an Operations Excellence Manager at OVRSEA ?

You will join the Ops Excellence team which works on transversal subjects at the heart of OVRSEA’s strategy and in direct collaboration with Brieuc, our Chief Operation Officer (COO) and co-founder.

The Ops Excellence team supports our two operational teams (the Operation Management Team, in charge of the shipment orchestration, and the Supply Team in charge of empowering Ovrsea’s network of partners & suppliers) on missions that are mainly based on 3 pillars:

  • Operational strategy : performance analysis, continuous improvement of our quality of service, definition of new operational requirements
  • Operations optimization and automation : implementation of processes, tools and product features to optimize operational performance
  • Supporting the growth of the Operations teams : structuring teams, continuous improvement of training, support to Team Leaders in managing their teams and projects.

Job Description

You will work with Julie, Head of Ops Excellence, to lead projects around the 3 axes mentioned above. This is both a strategic and operational position that mixes data, operations and product issues. It will allow you to collaborate with different teams on various projects that are crucial to support OVRSEA’s hypergrowth.

Here is the list of the missions we offer you (non-exhaustive list) :

Monitoring the performance of operational teams (30%)

  • Data modelling to monitor team performance
  • In-depth data analysis to identify areas for improvement and maximise service quality and/or productivity
  • Implementation of new KPIs and required data feedback with the Tech team
  • Organisation of training and monitoring of the development of newcomers’ skills

Operational strategy (20%)

  • Definition of new operational needs in collaboration with the Sales team
  • Adaptation of the Operations organisation to internationalisation
  • Regular review of ops client portfolios and associated processes to improve the client experience

Project management (50%)

  • End-to-end management (opportunity identification, framing/breakdown, prioritisation, orchestration and monitoring) of structuring projects aimed at improving our productivity or service quality.

Example of projects :

  • Automation of the various stages of the process of sending instruction emails to our suppliers (selection and filling in of the template, choice of recipient, inclusion of documents to be attached, definition of “triggers” and constraints for automatic sending)
  • Integration of new actors on the platform (customs, international agents)
  • Acceleration of the invoicing process for our clients (optimisation of the invoice referencing process, verification of amounts, allocation of files to be invoiced, monitoring of files in dispute)
  • Reorganisation of the operations department to better meet the needs of the business and our clients

Profil recherché

  • You are a graduate of a business school (or equivalent)
  • You are a curious person, passionate and you want to give your all in an exciting entrepreneurial adventure
  • You are analytical and have an appetite for data, but you also know how to immerse yourself in operations
  • You are solution-oriented and can propose solutions to any problem
  • You are able to work on different projects simultaneously
  • You ideally have experience in a demanding environment, preferably with a strong data or project management component (consulting, fast growing start-up)
