You’ll benefit from international mobility, strong development programs, and a culture that values inclusion, innovation, and wellbeing. Join us to electrify the future!

WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

You will join the Vessel Management Department within the PWR-T Business Group, a key function supporting Nexans’ global installation activities. The department is responsible for managing Nexans’ fleet of cable laying vessels and barges, as well as third-party marine assets required for project execution worldwide.

The team consists of approximately 10 permanent employees and a large network of subcontracted marine crew and vessel management personnel. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across projects, engineering, procurement, and support functions, as well as external partners such as vessel operators, brokers, and marine agents.

The position is based in Oslo, Norway, and reports to the VP Installation PWR-T Business Group. As part of the Installation Leadership Team, you will play a central role in shaping marine operations and supporting Nexans’ continued growth and expansion.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As Vessel Management Director, you will be responsible for leading the Vessel Management Department and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of Nexans’ marine assets.

Your main responsibilities include overseeing vessel operations, maintenance strategies, and investment projects, as well as managing OPEX and CAPEX budgets for a significant marine asset base. You will ensure optimal vessel utilization across projects, while maintaining high standards of technical and operational performance.

You will collaborate closely with project teams, tendering, and commercial functions to develop competitive marine solutions and support successful project delivery. In addition, you will manage third-party vessel agreements and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, class requirements, and Nexans’ QHSE standards.

A key part of your role will be to lead and develop teams both onshore and offshore, ensuring the right competence, capacity, and performance culture. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to reducing risk across the project portfolio.

You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.
