Contract: Permanent

The European Master Data Regional Functional Expert is a key enabler for delivering the Royal Canin strategy. It impacts the way we market, sell and distribute our products and enables the execution and strengthening of our current business model. Consequently, Royal Canin has defined Data Management as a strategic transformation area to support our growth.

The European Master Data Regional Functional Expert (RFE) is member of the European Supply Chain Planning Team and a key function in the new MDM Organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field with at least 5 years business related experience is preferred
  • Proven experience In data management, preferably In a data management role
  • Fluent English, French as plus
  • Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel, Information System qualification a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance and data quality best practices
  • Proficiency in using data management tools and systems, such as ERP systems, data flow, data modelling, data propagation
  • Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle, SAP) and data integration tools Is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Supply Chain & APS Is a plus

1. Data Management

  • Deploy and enforce global data governance standards and procedures across Europe to ensure data integrity, consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements with the support of Global teams and Local MD Key users
  • Establish, enforce & coordinate the execution of workflow procedures to ensure timely population of master data elements
  • Be Accountable for the Regional product data quality (completeness, accuracy, on time, …)
  • Define and Implement Key Performance Indicators measuring the Regional data quality and adherence to MDM processes
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by performing regular audits and validation checks to identify and resolve data discrepancies
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues in a timely manner to minimize impact on business operations
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance and accuracy of master data records in the organization’s database and systems
  • Back up the European Master Data Admin in creating, updating and maintaining master data records in accordance with established procedures and standards

2. Community of Practice

  • Create and animate the EU MDM Community of Practice (20-30 Key Users across Europe)
  • Provide guidance and support to key users on proper data entry best practices, data standards and system functionality
  • Develop and deliver training materials and documentation to educate key users on data management processes and procedures
  • Foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability across the organization
  • Train local MD Key users

3. System Maintenance and Support

  • Be, as RFE, key contact to collaborate with DT teams to configure and maintain master data management systems and tools within an agreed Service Level Agreement
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users experiencing data-related issues

4. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, standards and procedures
  • Streamline data management processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Engage with the Global Item MDM Team in CIP/new tool implementation (analyse, design, develop, test, deploy)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement system enhancements and process improvements

5. Data Analysis

  • Assist in data analysis and reporting activities to support business decision-making and strategic initiatives
  • You will work in a multicultural environment (more than 40 nationalities) and where your dog will be welcomed by more than 100 other Associates’ dogs at the office!   
  • You will work in a unique campus, which gathers more than 800 Associates working for: the international HQ, the French subsidiary, two laboratories, a kennel and a cattery with more than 200 cats & dogs, and finally the most important factory of the Royal Canin group
