Do you want to take the challenge to lead the engineering group in charge of the navigation and discovery of product and services in ManoMano?

This is what you need to know:

The Engineering Manager position is a key engineering leadership position in ManoMano, inside the Train Visitors B2B&B2C and the User Engineering group.

The Category Engineering group, inside the Visitors train, is in charge of driving traffic into our website and apps, and owning the overall navigation and product discovery experience. It’s composed of 4 Feature Teams (each one including backend, frontend and app) with an Engineering Lead in each team. Around 25 people in the Category organization.

FT Promote & Animate: focused on the multiple commercial animation actions present in the homepage, menus, banners, commercial operations, etc, for the B2B and B2C Users.

FT Browse: focused on the different category pages, search results, filters, etc.

FT Acquisition: focused on creating the feeds for the different acquisition sources (mostly Google Shopping) and specific categories and landing to boost SEO performance.

FT Room Shopping: focused on inspiring our users around specific room renovation projects and expert generated content with special categories of products for each inspirational project.

All four teams are located in France, between Paris, Bordeaux and remote France.

Our tech stack is:

  • Java/ Kotlin and Golang for our backend microservices
  • REST, GraphQL, DDD, RabbitMQ
  • MySQL, Postgres, Redis, S3 as our main Data sources
  • AWS, EKS (Kubernetes), Gitlab CI/CD
  • NextJS, ReactJS, Redux, redux-saga and react-native for our frontend and apps
  • We have a huge challenge ahead to:

  • Maximize the product discoverability through an optimized and personalized navigation experience
  • Create a sticky habit with recurrent promotions that increase the adoption of our digitalized channel
  • Maximize traffic acquisition to reduce our COS by improving our SEO and maximizing our offer visibility.
  • We are looking for a person with strong technical expertise together with great leadership and management skills that will be reflected in your day to day activities:

  • Owning the engineering aspects of your organization: architecture, performance, daily run, maintenance, etc
  • Manage 4 Engineering Leads, each leading a Feature Team
  • Foster a culture of continuous innovation, exploration and learning: we take bold decisions on our technology to take advantage of the latest trends.
  • Coach your direct reports and their reports for their career growth including career development plans, trainings, budgeting, etc.
  • Share the vision of where you want your organization to go and co-build with your leads a set of OKRs that drive the performance of your teams.
  • Liase with Product to enrich the solution exploration stages so deep engineering expertise is at the center of the solutions provided to our customers.
  • As so, we think that you should be bringing:

  • +8 years of experience as a software engineer
  • +3 years of experience leading team[s] of software engineers
  • Frontend Performance with deep expertise around Webvitals
  • Architectural proven skills: having designed at least 3 complex systems or refactoring of such and live in production
  • Natural leader having developed and coached key software engineers into Lead engineers.
  • Fluent in English
  • And what would make you a great candidate for the position:

  • Knowledge around E-commerce and the Product Discoverability, AdTech and SEO scope
  • Kubernetes, AWS (or any cloud provider) being used in your previous experiences
  • Java, Kotlin, Golang, GraphQL being used in your previous experiences
  • Leading Leaders for more than 1 year
