Being part of the Group’s risk carrier and reporting directly to the Chief Actuary in the Risk Carrier, you are leading a wide range of subjects such as reserving, modeling or calculating the technical provisions. Together with our actuarial function, you will develop and improve the actuarial models (pricing and reserving) within Luko Insurance AG, Luko Group’s risk carrier. 

This role will involve you working closely with the management board, as well as with our finance, underwriting and product teams from all markets where Luko Insurance is operating to proactively manage our risks, identify and pursue new products and help manage our full range of regulatory requirements. 


Your mission in the team:

    As part of the actuarial function you will be responsible for:

    • Contributing to all aspects of the reserving process, including periodic reviews of reserves for multiple lines of business through appropriate application of actuarial loss reserving techniques, and liaising with the claims, finance, and underwriting teams as necessary.
    • Calculating the Solvency II technical provisions, including calibration of key model variables and parameters, and assisting in the completion of regulatory returns.
    • Analyzing reserve and underwriting risk to support the parameterization of key inputs to the internal capital model.
    • Developing and refining the capital model framework both from an internal business perspective and a Solvency II perspective. Contribute to embedding key model uses across the business including Strategic Risk Metrics, reinsurance analysis, evaluating new business lines, and investment portfolio strategies.
    • Meeting and approaching members of other teams across the company in a collaborative effort to improve processes. Gain a greater understanding of a wide range of different insurance lines of business.
    • Developing management information and metrics to enhance ongoing communication with the business.
    • Validating the prices created by the business
    • Supporting QRT submission with the Risk Management function

     

      What do we recommend to be successful?

      Experience: 
      You have at least 3 years of experience in reserving, pricing, or general actuarial fields
      You are proficient in SQL / R / Python or other programming languages
      (Bonus if) You have an experience in general accounting standards (Solvency II, IFRS, or HGB German Gaap)

      Diploma: 
      You are a registered actuary or have gained significant experience in the field through practical applications

      Language: 
      You speak fluently English and German is a big plus

Our ideal candidate will have expertise in P&C retail insurance products, reserving, Solvency II framework and exposure to pricing is a nice to have!; experience working with varied stakeholders internally and externally; and be able to work collaboratively across multiple markets.
