Director of Solution Engineering, EMEA

As the Director of Solution Engineering for EMEA you will be responsible for building, leading and developing a team of PreSales leaders. These teams play a significant role in how we achieve our sales targets each month. This role will help inform overall sales strategy and the intersection between sales and our EMEA pre-sales organization.

This role can be remote, flex or office based out of our Dublin, Paris or Berlin offices.

In This Role, You’ll Get To:

  • Build and lead a growing team of technical go-to-market professionals, including skill assessment and ongoing skill and career development.
  • Manage and develop a diverse, high performing team of managers and senior managers by fostering an inclusive culture that enables them to effectively coach and grow their teams.
  • Provide clarity and direction to the EMEA PreSales organisation leveraging data, KPIs, measurement and OKRs.
  • Coach the team to set targets to achieve team & company goals.
  • Drive the evolution of the PreSales operating model to effectively support customers across our small business, mid-market, and corporate segments.
  • Create a cost-efficient and scalable solution engineering team focused on supporting our SMB prospects and customers, with strong RoI across our most complex deals.
  • Build solutions and processes to help automate the PreSales engagement across our sales model.
  • Develop cross-functional product feedback loops and relationships that inform the direction of our product development.
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales Leadership, Product, Finance, Revenue Operations, Enablement, Human Resources and Recruiting teams as key partners in achieving team goals.
  • Own regional annual planning, budget responsibility, hiring, and onboarding for the team.
  • Influence key strategic decisions for the HubSpot sales organisation as a part of the EMEA sales leadership team.

We Are Looking For People Who Have:

  • Experience leading PreSales and/or have developed a PreSales strategy or overlay sales functions that help accelerate sales of a specific product.
  • Experience developing technical go-to-market motions and strategies that apply to both large and low touch small customer acquisition.
  • Second line people management experience and a passion for creating a diverse and inclusive team environment that fosters trust and empowerment via a purposeful culture.
  • Experience working closely with sales stakeholders throughout the sales cycle, including Partner/Channel Experience.
  • The ability to motivate and align a team to a vision and manage effectively through change.
  • A proven playbook for hiring, coaching, and mentoring technical go-to-market teams.
  • Experience leading a multi region or multi discipline team, demonstrating the ability to manage complexity and scale a team.
  • A strategic, data-driven mindset to help drive HubSpot go-to-market sales strategy.
  • A deep understanding of customer needs to design sales processes which solve for customers first.
  • A strong track record of growth and overachieving targets in a high-velocity, high-growth business.
  • Previous experience working in SaaS industries is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in public speaking at industry and company events.
