With a brand identity redesign underway, and ambitious goals to simplify the user experience and boost conversion, we’re looking for a Head of Design to help us scale our design practice and lead this exciting new chapter.
As Head of Design, you’ll oversee the full scope of design at HomeExchange: UX, UI, design system, User Research and Product Brand experience.You’ll report directly to Alice, our Chief Product Officer, and lead our team of 4 Product Designers: Catherine, Clara, Rocio, and Marko.
This role blends strategic leadership, team management, and hands-on contribution to our most critical product design projects.
Your missions
Define and own a clear design vision that aligns with the product strategy and the new brand identity
Contribute to the brand redesign rollout, ensuring a consistent and meaningful user experience
Partner with Brand, Marketing, and Product teams to bring the brand to life across the product — from design to tone of voice to micro-interactions
Set and uphold high quality standards: clarity, simplicity, usability, and that extra bit of delight
Manage and coach the design team (currently 4 designers): support growth, encourage ownership, foster autonomy
Structure the team’s operations: processes, documentation, tooling, design system
Create a collaborative, positive environment where high standards and a sense of responsibility thrive
Supervise and promote a user research culture: interviews, testing, user feedback — ensuring insights are translated into design decisions
Encourage a data-driven mindset: use product usage data, KPIs, and quantitative analysis to identify improvement areas and back up design choices
Work closely with PMs and Data to ground the design team’s work in clear, measurable impact goals
Actively contribute to high-stakes or complex design projects where your expertise can make a difference
Ensure coherence and usability across our key user journeys
Support day-to-day design production when needed — with a “lead by example” mindset
Prior experience managing a design team, and a passion for mentoring and growing talent
Solid experience (min. 7 years) as Product Designer, with strong UX/UI skills and a proven track record in digital product design
Experience in B2C or online platform in scale-up environments is highly valued
Comfortable balancing vision and execution — you can zoom out or dive in as needed
Fluent in French & English (spoken and written)
Experience in the US or international markets is a plus
