Positioning: The Project Manager and Art Buyer for Windows is attached to the Director of Windows Creation and Art Buying, who in turn reports to the Creative Director.

Background :

The Creative Department brings together internal and external talents to create and produce communication content that will excite and surprise Hermès audiences.

Dimensions :

Hermès is present worldwide through a retail network of more than 300 stores, including 207 branches, 104 concessionaires and Hermes.com.

General Mission:

The Project Manager and Art Buyer for Windows ensures the follow-up of the development of all seasonal window projects (artists, theme and / or freelance / agencies or others) for the territories that will be entrusted to them. It sets up and maintains training and information tools, leads defined projects under the supervision of the Director and actively participates in the identification of new talents and contributors.

Main activities for the entrusted scope:

1. Showcases:

The organization of the Windows is done in close collaboration with the subsidiaries, the Legal Department and, for certain dedicated projects, other business departments.

Support for subsidiaries:

- Support for the creative development of Seasonal windows

- Special assistance to subsidiaries in the production of Seasonal Windows: iconographic research, or production materials, specialist suppliers, or special loans and specific shipments

-Assist with the development of support tools, educational content for the subsidiaries and other defined projects

- Follow-up of the annual activity reports of the subsidiaries of the entrusted territory

 

Training and information:

- Coordinate, in agreement and in close collaboration with the various interlocutors, the follow-up of the creation and development of Seasonal Windows (of artists, theme and / or itinerant or other trades) in progress and planning, with the artist, the designer, the decorator or the external service provider solicited for the project,

- Ensure the success of the windows by feeding them with the existing guidelines and communication tools:

  • Write and send newsletters, guidelines and do's and don'ts specific to subsidiaries,
  • Manage the intranet dedicated to Windows
  • Lead any development projects as requested by the Director
  • Analyze and disseminate the various data collected on each project highlighting the evolution of the activity,
  • Update shared calendars and photo library

- Participate in the substantive organization of the annual Windows seminars, inputting with the Director on the topics covered, the speakers, the program, and conducting iconographic research, etc ...

- Update, after each Podium, the Window Activity Reports and be a force of proposal for the development of new statistical analysis tools of subsidiaries,

- Negotiate in the best interests of Hermès the production costs of the windows within the framework of the allocated budget,

 

2. Feeding creation:

- Search for creatives, set designers, artists, creative directors for the worldwide network and for troubleshooting different schemes.

- Participate in the prospection of various artists, designers and talents in connection with the Director.

- Enrich and update the pool of artists in the department in tandem with the second Project Manager.

 

3. Cross-cutting missions:

- Draft contracts, in collaboration with the Legal Department,

- Participate in the definition and presentation of the department's strategy in conjunction with the Director.

- Administrative management of the department: budget monitoring, expense reports, travel organization, etc.

- Feeding production quality – by sharing production best practice and guidelines, do’s and dont’s and any production content developed by the Windows department.

 

Purpose :

- Ensure the success of the Seasonal window projects and contribute to their constant improvement

- Share reliable and permanent information within the team and for stakeholders and the Director

 

Profile:

- Higher education in business school completed by a master's degree in cultural project management and/or art history.  

- Experience in production techniques and set build, gained within a creative industry an advantage  
- Knowledge of the contemporary artistic or design, architecture or creative set design is essential.  
- Sensitivity to artistic and cultural news.

- Mastery of project management: flexibility, responsiveness, organization/method, rigor, versatility, practicality, summary direction, management of deadlines and priorities.  
- Design and creation of proposals and presentations and an understanding of Communications.
- Team spirit, sense of the collective, listening and ability to motivate and coordinate the actions of various interlocutors in a calm and sensitive way.
-Very good level of
written and spoken English essential.
