The local agency you will work with in Greece (Creta)

Petassos Travel is a local agency that organizes tailor-made trips in Greece (mainland and islands in Aegean) Being based on the island of Crete, in the capital of the island Heraklion, we are organizes trips with a sustainable context and trying to help local providers to stay and grow in their homeland. We offer off-the-beaten-track, road trips, and trekking trips for family and friends that want to discover the culture and the nature of our country out of the mass tourism areas or with us much less involved with the famous places like Santorini and Mykonos! We bring in contact our travelers with the locals and try to have interactions with them. Small hotels, local rental car companies, professionals in history, archeology, geology, anthropology, and local farmers are our providers with a passion for what they are doing.

Job description

You will be in charge of direct sales with Evaneos customers for the destination Greece. You will be the person who receives inquiries through the Evaneos platform and the main contact for French travelers. As the contract will be with the local agency, the job could contain any or more of the following duties:

  • Understand travelers expectations
  • Main contact for clients to determine travel needs, budgets, and preferences: tailor-made itineraries
  • Match travelers’ requirements with transportation, accommodations, insurance, tours, and activities.
  • Advises clients regarding destinations, cultures, customs, weather, and activities
  • Responsible for billing the travelers
  • Handles travel issues, conflicts, complaints, cancellations, and refunds
  • Builds and maintains relationships with travel and tour operators
  • Booking management: reservation with hotels and other services
  • Quality monitoring during the trip

Additional information

Duration & contract type: long-term contract
Precise location: Heraklion, Crete (Greece)
Availability: from March 2023
Salary: to be discussed + % of sales commissions
Other advantages: employee’s social security contribution, after one year the salary will be increased according to the sales report at the end of the year. The employee will be trained on the destination so he/she will travel around Greece to know the places he/she is selling
Working time per day and week: 09.00-17.00, 5 days per week, weekend free.

Preferred experience

Languages required:

  • French : native or bilingue as the job would be only with French travellers
  • English : good level to be able to communicate with colleagues and local partners
  • Greek would be a plus (but not mandotory as the whole team speak English)

Ideal profile:

  • Previous experience in tourism is required
  • Interests in the destination Greece (training about the destination would be provided in any cases)
  • Sales profile
  • Organised and detail-oriented
  • Good Persuading Skills
  • Know how to operate a computer in a Windows environment and the basic programs of 365 Office
  • Positive to suggestions, resourceful and able to handle situations under the pressure of the season
