Euronext Market Services (EMS)

Euronext Market Services (EMS) is the front line for Euronext Cash, Derivatives and Commodities business

with two operational centers in Amsterdam and Paris to ensure fair and orderly markets for all Cash, Derivatives and Commodities products, including Corporate Actions, Euronext Indices, Euronext Market Data, Member on boarding and Hosted Commercial Markets.

The Cash Market Operations department manages and monitors the Equities, Fixed Income, ETFs and Warrants & Certificates markets, from 06:30-22:30 CET.

EMS is a preferred entry point for all talents willing to work in the Euronext or more broadly in the financial markets industry.

  • Job description

The Markets Analyst Apprentice is responsible for maintaining a fair and orderly market on all the relevant asset classes within the scope of the Euronext Market Surveillance department.

He monitors markets in real time and has to react efficiently to any market event using the tools at his disposal.

He contributes in the company's projects and initiatives based on his experience and knowledge of the markets and the internal systems.

Key accountabilities

As Market Analyst apprentice you will learn to:

  • Ensure the existence of a fair and orderly market for Euronext Cash markets (Equities, Bonds, ETF's and Warrants & Certificates) ;
  • Monitor / Alert: prevent and detect market manipulations or illegal trading practices through efficient market surveillance and report all suspicious cases to Member Compliance ;
  • Run the platforms & tools: perform start of day and end of day checks on production and test (EUA) environments as well as taking care of continuous monitoring of services ;
  • Incident management: identify, alert to IT departments and follow-up until resolution ;
  • Track resolution of bugs linked to incidents and provide views on priority level ;
  • Execute key tests on the new releases: sanity checks, tests of selected end-to-end functionalities
  • Perform the business acceptance / end user testing, prepare conformance test scripts, prepare operational readiness and participation of the Launch strategy ;
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the department's procedures and processes.

Education & Knowledge

· Master's level student in finance or engineering or Grandes Ecoles (management or engineering) .

· Finance majors are most suitable, thought other majors are welcome to candidate

Experience

· A first experience in finance is appreciated

· Conceptual knowledge of most of the following areas: Trade Lifecycle, Exchanges, Cash & Derivatives products, and Trading Procedures

· Learning capacities with basic IT knowledge
