What is the Portfolio & Partnerships Manager’s objective?
Carbon offset, carbon neutrality and net zero initaitives are gaining momentum in all geographies where we have presence. The voluntary market is growing rapidly as well as the demand for voluntary offsetting. On the compliance side, regional and sectorial regulations are also increasing. Project development demand is growing, specifically with carbon sequestration and removals.
As a fast-growing organization, we are currently looking for a Portfolio and Partnerships Manager within the Nature Based Solutions Business Unit. This role will focus on sourcing high quality carbon offsets and identifying new project development opportunities in addition to the management and execution of the various responsibilities as decribed below.

Portfolio and Partnerships Manager - Central Europe, Nature Based Solutions Business Unit
The Portfolio & Partnerships (P&P) Manager for Central Europe is in charge of enriching the Carbon Offset portfolio of EcoAct with Best-In-Class projects and qualitative environmental assets. The key responsibilities include the following:

• Develop a dedicated team of Portfolio & Partnerships consultants to respond to Central Europe offsetting demands mainly (but can be more global demands as well).
• In collaboration with the Head of Portfolio & Partnerships, define and implement team goals and objectives.
• Designs and develops training courses for internal teams and customer.
• Contribute to the development of EcoAct’s innovative global carbon offset portfolio of projects. These projects will be sourced from partners worldwide.
• Develop new and reinforce long-term strategic partners by implementing different schemes of collaboration.
• Engage historical partners and new projects developers to discuss availability, quality level and price of environmental projects and assets to enrich EcoAct’s Portfolio.
• Report directly to the Head of Portfolio and Partnerships for the Nature-Based Solutions Business-Unit on progress on discussions with partners and projects developers as well as defined KPIs (on a weekly basis).
• Actively support Central Europe sales and business development teams to close deals for customers (customer visits and presentation, customized solution…).
• Oversee and manage the creation of marketing and communication materials for commercial offers.
• Understand, identify and relay local needs and demands for carbon offsets to NBS Team, in order to enrich Central Europe and global NBS Strategy.
• Manage the negotiation and purchase of carbon offsets from project holders.
• Regularly perform and coordinate due diligence assessments both with desk reseach and on site, followed by regular updates.
• When necessary, travel abroad to visit and perform due diligence on newly identified projects.
• Perform market and methodological watch, especially on the development of new carbon projects methodologies and standards evolutions.
• Oversee the collection, centralization and storage of project information, prices ranges, vintages, contacts, contracts (MoU, Term Sheets, Cooperation agreements, VERPAs, etc) for the Central Europe team.


Profil recherché

Required competencies for the position
• Academic background: Bachelors degree and/or Masters degree Specialization on sustainable development or climate policy is a plus
• Strong leadership and management skills

Experience
• 5-years’ professional experience in sustainability and climate change
• A first professional experience in managing a team of at least 3 people
• A relevant professional experience related to carbon offsets
• Good knowledge of the carbon market mechanisms
• Experience in carbon project development and carbon projects certification is a plus
• Fluent in German & English. French/Spanish is a plus.
