Doctrine is already used by thousands of legal professionals every single day and we've already built one of the best products for lawyers in the market. We're hiring a Product Designer to join our growing product team and help design products our customers love.

We are a product company: our primary job is to care for our customers by solving their biggest problems. And we believe great product and enduring competitive advantage is built by a tight partnership between Product Management, Engineering, and Design.

You'll participate in every aspect of the product development process, from discovery to delivery, working hand in hand with the Product Manager and Engineers within your squad as well as your fellow Designers. And of course, you'll use your craftsmanship and user-centric mindset to design elegantly simple solutions to the most important problems our customers face.

Responsibilities

  • Discovery phase:
  • Work with the Product Manager to assess product opportunities and prioritize most important user insights the squad needs to focus on.
  • Use whatever means necessary to understand customer needs to help prioritize opportunities(user interviews, session replays, usage metrics, sales & customer support inputs,...).
  • Quickly iterate on low-fi & high-fi prototypes to test your assumptions with users.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate your design decisions and how they relate to the problem you’re solving.
  • Delivery phase:
  • Scope the solution to build iteratively towards your north star vision.
  • Fight any tendency to over-specify before talking to engineers: work with them to find the sweet spot to move fast and get early feedback on any unexpected technical constraints.
  • Navigate between "good enough" solutions and precisely crafted high quality experiences depending on the expected impact of the feature.
  • Help the design team iterate on the design system to make sure each new implementation is faster, more robust and always more coherent.

    • Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years as a product designer or UX/UI designer, either in a startup or an agency setup (whatever your initial background, design, engineering, business school,...)
  • Thorough experience conducting user testing and research
  • A portfolio of design projects that shows an understanding of design process and strong craft skills
  • Design tool ninja: use whatever tool necessary to achieve desired outcome (we currently use Figma, a lot)
  • Fluent in French
  • Last but not least: inspired by the idea of building the future of how people access law and connect with lawyers.
