About

Since 2015, BlueBoard has been building a SaaS solution in E-Retail Intelligence for consumer goods brands. This solution allows them to understand where and how their products are distributed online.

Concretely, brands often have too little visibility on what e-commerce sites do with their products. BlueBoard allows them to quickly solve their distribution issues (out-of-stocks, price issues), to increase their sales (share of the digital shelf, quality of the product pages) and to protect their image on a global scale (grey market, customer reviews).

To provide all this information, BlueBoard scrapes millions of data points every day from thousands of websites. BlueBoard already serves major international accounts like JBL, BenQ, L’Oreal, Fujifilm, Babymoov, Logitech, Legrand…

Job description

Our marketing team is growing! We’re ready to welcome a new person (that’d be you 👏).

What does the marketing team do?

Glad you asked! Our team is in charge of:

  • BlueBoard’s messaging (honing our value propositions, identifying our target personae and crafting messages specific to each of them)
  • Inbound organic lead acquisition (content creation, website, SEO, social media)
  • Paid lead acquisition (LinkedIn advertising, Adwords, Referral)
  • Sales support (advising the sales team on messaging, providing relevant sales materials)
  • Lead management (turning inbound leads into qualified and motivated prospective buyers to pass onto the sales team)

What would I be doing?

Recently, our acquisition channels (those above + sales outreach) have gained more traction. This means more leads to handle: qualify, follow up, pass onto the sales team, check on, etc. We could automate most of this, but we’re a B2B business with a diverse audience, offering a high-commitment (read: expensive) service. This means most of the time, it’s 100% worth the hassle to customize our approach.

Now getting to the you part. We’d like you to handle our inbound leads. Potential customer relationship management. This means you’d progressively grow to be in charge of:

  • Inbound lead research and qualification: who’s this person who’s just downloaded my handbook?
  • Lead scoring: do they look like someone we’d want to sell something to? We have a beta lead scoring system, but you’d be in charge of improving it.
  • Lead nurturing: hey [handsome e-retail manager in the consumer electronics industry], would you like to see how we’ve helped other people just like you become rich and famous?
  • Pre-sales contact: the initial “human” connection with the leads; did they understand what we do? Do they have an actual need? The goal is to make sure we’re not wasting the sales team’s time by booking them into demos with irrelevant people.
  • Dead lead resurrection: when the sales team have given up, you’re here to soldier on and give it one last try.

When we say in charge, we mean it. We’ll expect you to come up with improvements, to automate things, and to tell us what we’ve been getting wrong.
You’ll be interacting with the rest of the team to guide marketing activities. You’ll work with the sales team to make sure that everything flows smoothly between them and us.

In terms of tools, we’re using Pipedrive and Intercom at the moment. This is what you’d be starting with.

Preferred experience

Although we don’t have a specific profile in mind, let’s not beat around the bush: we’re looking for someone with impeccable written English skills. That’s the one non-negotiable thing. We’ll need you to write a lot. So ideally, you are an English native, have spent years in an English-speaking country, or were top of your class throughout high school (and you have test scores to prove it).

Other than that, we’d be reassured if you’ve had previous experience in marketing or sales. But honestly, if you’re looking to change fields, that might also work.

A big part of this job is to segment audiences, find out what gives results, what can be automated, etc. You should have an analytical mind and be good at recognizing patterns.

Other important things:

  • You speak and understand French. Not all of us are French, but if you don’t know the language, you won’t enjoy working with us as much. B1 or equivalent is a minimum.
  • You have a thick skin. Leads will sometimes not reply to your emails. Or be mean to you.
  • You have empathy and rigor.
  • You can legally be an intern in France (you are studying in the EU).
  • We like to keep interns as full-time employees, so we prefer end-of-studies internships with EU citizens.

Recruitment process

We reply to all applications within three days. If your profile ticks most of the boxes, we’ll spend some time on the phone, then meet in person.
