Founded in November 2014, Back Market is the number one European (and soon global) marketplace specializing in the sale of fully refurbished tech devices.

The concept is simple but radical. By helping customers discover and purchase the highest quality refurbished electronics we are creating an alternative to the mainstream behavior of always purchasing new products. Prolonging the lives of these devices has a significant global impact. E-Waste accounts for 70% of all our toxic waste ! By prolonging the lives of kitchen appliances, computers, mobile devices and more, they have already saved 3,766 tonnes of e.waste since 2014 💪

Within the RPF (Risk, Payments & Fraud) Department, we are at the heart of various product launches (new payment methods, insurances, high value-added services for our sellers, etc.) and country launches that contribute to the strong growth of Back Market.Our mission is to generate new revenues, to optimise and monitor the smooth running of the marketplace while providing operational support to the other departments. In this context, we are looking for a Payment Manager who will be a key member of the Payment team.

Your Mission (if you accept it):

  • Monitor the payment performances for each of our markets and find optimisation opportunities to increase our conversion rates
  • Design the best payment UI/UX for our customers and sellers by working closely with product owners and sharing relevant business insights
  • Provide benchmarks, researches and business cases to help the country expansion team making informed decisions and guarantee the rollout success
  • Advise the OPS team on the conception of new offers or services, to ensure that payment compliance is at the heart of each new project
  • Work with the fraud team to develop a bespoke anti-fraud approach for each of our existing and future countries
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on the implications of new payment methods addition, new regulations and compliance matters such as PSD2, PCI-DSS, AML/CFT...
  • Lead payment incident resolution both internally and externally
  • You are at the right place if:

  • You have at least 4 years experience working in payments
  • You have a deep understanding of the payment industry and you are able to design future-proof solutions to ensure our payment stack scalability
  • You have a strong background in project management and you are able to lead multiple complex projects with both business and technical teams
  • You are proactive, rigorous and have a real appetite for business
  • You know your way around numbers, and have a perfect command of Excel, SQL is a plus
  • English is a no brainer
