Just as Airbnb brings together homeowners and travellers on one trusted platform to draw economic value from a previously underutilized asset — vacant living spaces — Back Market connects the best sellers of refurbished consumer electronics with consumers looking for a more affordable, reliable, and environmentally-friendly alternative to buying new.

In order to further accelerate Back Market’s high GMV growth and ensure the best possible supply across our marketplaces, Back Market is recruiting a Head of Asian Supply, based in our office in Hong Kong.

Within the Asian Development Team, you will manage a team of Salespeople, responsible for connecting new sellers onto the platform and grow their business cross-border strategically while ensuring the best level of quality possible - and a team of Project&Ops. You will also lead the Hong Kong offices, being in charge of building the Back Market culture in that new office.

YOUR MISSION IF YOU ACCEPT IT:

  • Manage a portfolio of seller and own Sales and Quality KPIs throughout the Seller Journey: Seller acquisition rate, Seller onboarding time, Seller GMV, Overall Seller Quality, Seller Churn, … 
  • Define a Business Development strategy - including a robust and automatized Lead Generation Strategy, to keep growing our merchant base.
  • Lead the Asian Supply Performance, conducting and communication on the operational monitoring of business results: Selection - Pricing - Crossborder - Quality.
  • Convert complex and deep-dive analysis into both concrete and short-term oriented actions with strong impact AND long-term tech solutions.
  • Build our strategic Global Cross-border Supply Roadmap, aiming at maximizing the Asian Supply performance in the US, in the APAC countries, and out of the smartphone category.
  • Build and run tailor-made Asian Seller B2B services hand-to-hand with the product team and the Services team in France.
  • Open the Back Market offices in Hong Kong, and work hand-to-hand with the HR team to design the best recruitment and HR strategy in the HK offices.
  • You're at The Right Place If:

  • You have a strong knowledge of the marketplace business models, with at least  5 years in the e-commerce industry with strong achievements at leading expansion projects.
  • You have held a senior position in operations in an international retail company, managing Sales teams with successful track records.
  • You demonstrated the ability to own a P&L and you have a very strong analytical profile. Proficient use of database tools is a plus (SQL, Tableau, …).
  • You have an intrapreneurial mindset that sees opportunities whenever others see problems, ready to work in a start-up hyper-growth environment.
  • You are solution-oriented, focused on quick results and lean-approach.
  • You’re a fantastic team player, thriving in an international environment.
