Descriptif du poste

Do you want to solve business challenges through innovative technology? Do you enjoy working on cutting-edge, massively scalable services in a fast-paced team environment? Do you love working on industry defining projects that move the needle?
At Amazon, we hire the creative thinkers to innovate and build things for the benefit of our customers. The intense focus we have on our customers is why we are one of the world’s most beloved brands – it is part of our company DNA. Our Software Development Engineers play an instrumental role in utilizing cutting edge technology to solve complex problems and get to see the impact of their work.
Amazon challenges are big and impact millions of customers, sellers, and countless products across the globe. We are looking for someone who is excited by the idea creating new platforms, features, and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company whose ship cycles are measured in weeks, not years. If this is you, come build the future with us.
Come join the AWS Developer Tools group to help us develop and maintain the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), a product that helps developers model their infrastructure as code. In this position, you’ll be directly involved with the design, implementation, and maintenance of this product, developed primarily in Typescript. You’ll work closely with engineers from all over AWS to help determine the correct design, features, and service integrations. You’ll also get the opportunity to work closely with customers to understand the issues they run into and innovate on their behalf. You will work in an open source environment where your code, issues and design discussions will be public and will inform the foundation for an open source software ecosystem.
AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud provider–from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases–to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together. Whether its Identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind. The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.
Mentor
We have a formal mentor search application that lets you find a mentor that works best for you based on location, job family, job level etc. Your manager can also help you find a mentor or two, because two is better than one. In addition to formal mentors, we work and train together so that we are always learning from one another, and we celebrate and support the career progression of our team members.
Inclusion
Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.
Work-Life Balance
Our team also puts a high value on work-life balance. Striking a healthy balance between your personal and professional life is crucial to your happiness and success here, which is why we aren’t focused on how many hours you spend at work or online. Instead, we’re happy to offer a flexible schedule so you can have a more productive and well-balanced life—both in and outside of work.

Profil recherché

· 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
The AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) is an open source project maintained by our team. You will have extensive interactions with the CDK community, both within AWS and the general public. Good communications skills are a must, since you will be collaborating directly with contributors (customers) on GitHub, as well as the internal user base within Amazon.

To be successful in this role, you need broad knowledge of AWS infrastructure as well as passion for developer tooling and developer experiences. Strong customer focus and deep technical skills will enable you to have a huge impact on how developers build cloud applications.

Engineers working on the CDK should be unafraid to learn new languages, as we often must troubleshoot customer issues in their language of choice. Our primary development language is Typescript, but we vend the CDK for NodeJS, Python, Java, C# and Go using a technology called the Javascript Interoperability Interface (JSII), also maintained by this team.
