We are the leader in France and are on track to win the European market on the (very) hot Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) industry, as we’re now processing payments in 10 European countries. Over the past 3 years, more than 7,800 merchants have chosen Alma to be their innovative BNPL solution, and we have served over 1.7 million consumers.

The team has grown from 2 to 350+ people, we raised a €210M series C early 2022 to help us accelerate further and Alma is already part of the Next40 ranking of the most promising French technology companies. And that's only the beginning.

Your missions

To help us achieve our vision of balanced commerce, we are looking for an extremely talented Brand Manager to grow our brand awareness through the management of all communications campaigns and brand assets development within the company.

Your mission will be to sharpen & implement Alma’s brand strategy in order to develop our brand awareness across markets as Alma aims at becoming a European leader in the very hot BNPL market.

You will report directly to the Head of Brand & Content, working closely with all the Brand & Content Hub (Brand Content, Media Management, Social Media) but also the Marketing and D2C (Direct to Consumer) departments. As of today, the role doesn’t include a management dimension but it will be subject to change as the company and the Brand & Content Hub grows.

You will be responsible for the following missions :

Lead the advertising campaign production and its implementation in all our touch points on our new brand platform:

  • Lead the development of advertising materials (TCV, OOH, ad banners, radio spot, social media activation…) in all aspects (legal, timings, financial, brand guidelines alignment).
  • Lead and ensure its implementation on our touchpoints (website, app, emails, sales pitch, ec.)
  • Be responsible or our day-to-day media agency relation to sharpen media plan and deliver assets on time.
  • Bring this communication territory to life internally and externally within proactive actions to strengthen it
  • Keep a close eye on our KPIs and set up corrective action if necessary

Ensure brand consistency and channels coordination in all our communications

  • Be the guarantor & sponsor of our brand's universe in France and abroad:
    • As such, guarantee coherence and compliance with the brand guidelines and strategy throughout all content (visuals, texts, graphic charters, emails, advertisements)
    • Make strategic proposals to nourish and strengthen the readability, tone of voice, positioning, and hence understanding and awareness of our brand

Coordinate the Brand & Content Hub initiatives with both internal & external stakeholders

  • Ensure all internal (content managers, designers, copywriters, event managers, etc.) and external partners (freelancers, agencies, etc.) fully understand and embrace our brand and take coordinated action
  • Source and manage all other external partners to ensure best-in-class service: creative agencies, media agencies, etc
  • Work closely with global marketing teams and local commercial teams to gather insights and advice on marketing actions and campaigns and the rollout of the branding in new markets

Help the Head of Brand & Content in global hub building and structuration

  • Be responsible for implementing tools and processes able to smooth the Brand & Content hub functioning, its collaboration with other teams, and its integration inside Alma
  • Support the Head of Brand & Content in all management-related topics
  • Take part in HR recruitment to complete the Brand & Content hub

N.B.: Please note that Alma moves very fast so expect that this scope will evolve in the coming 12 months.

About you

Being our Brand Manager requires a wide skill set and a high level of energy:

  • Project management master: You know perfectly how to bring a project from point A to point B, and you are good at working on multiple projects at once under tight deadlines, you have excellent project management skills. You also know how to work with creative teams and drive them wisely
  • Strong brand management experience: from the brand platform to the communication territory, brand strategy has no secret for you, as well as, relevant touch points to use (PR, offline and online media, social, website, POS) to develop awareness, consideration, and preference
  • Creativity is a must-have: you like to think out-of-the-box and extend the boundaries of creativity, always keeping in mind business priorities
  • Impact-driven: you always keep a close eye on your KPIs and make sure you allocate your time and resources to the actions that have the highest impact on Alma
  • Outstanding communication & presentation skills: you are a born storyteller and you turn any communication opportunity into entertainment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you are not afraid of taking responsibility and getting your hands dirty
  • Team spirit: you believe success is a collective achievement between teammates, you thrive on collaboration

You are a good fit for this role if:

  • You have 4-5+ years of experience as a Brand Manager ideally within an advertising agency or for a startup, or pure player with a strong consumer focus
  • You already have worked in an international and multicultural context, and you are fluent in both French and English
  • A solid experience in communication territory and its implementation in all the brand touch points is a must-have, as well as a proven track record of brand awareness development

About the recruitment process

Because of the importance of this role for Alma, the process is quite intense. Yet, we'll aim at running it in 2 to 3 weeks max.
