As a Cyber Security Engineer within the Akur8 security team you’ll contribute to many aspects of the maintenance and improvement of our global security, most particularly concerning technical security controls.

Your typical missions will be to:

• Develop, implement and operate security tools to improve security controls in our CI/CD pipeline
• Detect technical vulnerabilities (e.g. vulnerability scans), security events (e.g. SIEM), and ensure the security of Akur8’s solution (e.g. WAF)
• Perform on-going penetration tests and code reviews in order to strengthen Akur8’s solution;
• Audit and harden Akur8’s cloud infrastructure and systems (e.g. cloud services, containers, etc);
• Contribute to the training of Akur8’s developers on secure coding best practices and provide guidances on new developments;

Other activities during which you may eventually be called upon perform:

• Investigation of security events;
• Solution design reviews on security related topics;
• Raising cyber security awareness within Akur8;

More broadly, as a Cyber Security Engineer you’ll work closely with all of Akur8 technical teams (DevOps team & Development team) and be expected to show the initiative that will allow you to become a reference for technical security related topics.

Requirements

Understanding of the fact that it is difficult to master all aspects of cyber security, we are searching for someone who possesses as many of the following skills as possible (or who is passionate enough to acquire them):

• A first post-educational professional experience in the field of IT security
• Previous experience in conducting either penetration tests, technical security audits or red team campaigns
• Practical knowledge of web application security concepts (common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques)
• Experience with Public cloud security
• Previous experience of general systems and network security;

• Comfortable with Python and / or another scripting language;
• A professional level of spoken English

Additional, non-essential, elements that would highlight your suitability for the role:

• Experience with AWS, Github or CI/CD pipelines;
• Knowledge in Java and object oriented programing;
• Experience as a Security Auditor or Security Consultant;
