Exciting opportunity to work in the sales and marketing department for one of the most trusted names in world news.

Global news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) is seeking an energetic sales manager to run its Singapore, the Philippines and Vietnam markets and be part of a vibrant sales and marketing team that covers the whole Asia-Pacific region, from Afghanistan to New Zealand.

Role

• Oversee full sales cycle and markets strategy for content licensing: prospection, preparing decks, pitching, negotiation, sale, delivery setup, after-sales service, reporting

• Maintain and grow an important existing portfolio of clients from a variety of industries (e.g. media, agencies, corporate, institutions, government, etc)

• Actively seek out new content sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and social media in Singapore, in the Philippines and Vietnam, and generate a pipeline of media and non-media prospects

• Responsible for selling AFP’s products by identifying leads, educating prospects on products through calls, demos, trainings and presentations, and providing existing customers with exceptional support

• Negotiate/close deals, edit contracts and handle complaints or objections

• Identify prospects for FACTSTORY on-demand content and MediaConnect distribution

• Maintain clear sales and activity reporting records (CRM) and gather market feedback

• Attend (online) networking events, exhibitions and brand-building events. Regular commercial trips to the Philippines and Vietnam

• Work closely with marketing and lead generation teams in the region, as well as team members from the Singapore, Manila and Vietnam news bureaus


Profil recherché

• At least 3 to 5 years of business development experience

• Previous experience in content licensing business is highly recommended

• Knowledge of the news media or creative industries would be an asset

• Ability to work in an international environment

• Forward strategic thinker/early adopter of new technologies

• Good at making and developing contacts and relationships

• Excellent executive presence with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Highly organised, adaptable, problem-solver and be bubbling with ideas

• Social media-savvy

• Fluency in English is a must. Chinese is an advantage
