Our Serenity team provides a common platform and tools across our marketplaces to review all types of user-generated content to ensure it is of high quality and non-fraudulent. Millions of events pass through our system and are reviewed automatically by services and manually by local moderation teams.

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in building a state-of-the-art scalable system. We want you to collaborate with the team to build a strong shared technological and domain expertise. Join us to work with the latest technologies in a tech-agnostic, international environment. 

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain and operate the global product

• Role model documentation and world class APIs

• Keep on top of the latest developments in distributed systems and cloud tech

• Help to improve our ways of working and communicate best practices

• Continuously monitor the health and quality of our systems

Work with technologies including: 

Python, Kotlin (some Java pending deprecation) /  Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch /  Kubernetes / Kafka, SQS / CI/CD: GHE, Travis CI, Spinnaker and Helm (investigating ArgoCD) / Observability: Datadog / Grafana Cloud
